These enormous battleships seem to rise almost organically from the water, their vast, armoured hulls topped with coal-black gunports and towers, making them look almost like floating volcanoes. Their gundecks are packed with heavy guns, and their crews often comprise a contingent of Corsairs, whose firelocks pick off enemy commanders and elite troops during boarding actions with impunity. Upon the Drake's craggy aftcastles, scorchwings perch, awaiting the call of their master to swoop down and attack the enemy in a fiery conflagration.

The Salamanders possess a small but elite navy, with large, powerful ships. Their crews, often commanded by mysterious arkosaurs, are well-drilled - indeed, through some form of racial memory, many salamanders are spawned with knowledge of sailing and naval strategy in their fiery blood. The strange appearance of their battleships has remained largely unchanged for millennia, and were themselves developed in response to their enemies in the East, foremost amongst them the ancient Xirkaali Empire.

While the Frontline Squadrons of the Crown Navy are used to going toe-to-toe with enemy fleets, the Support Squadrons serve a range of unique roles to aid and assist the fleet as a whole to complete their missions. The Hotspur Support Carriers add additional fighter Support. It is common for Hotspur captains to drive their ships at full speed towards the enemy, hoping that their large engines give their Defiant strike fighters an optimal launch position. The Agincourt Bombardment Cruisers are armed with the dreaded Taranis Naval Mortar, capable of hurling all manner of projectiles up to a range of over fifteen miles.

The Athelstan Flak cruiser provides a screen of anti-aircraft fire to ensure that the Defiant Squadrons hit their targets and to defend the decks of the Crown vessels. A Squadron of Athelstan's was used on the Thames to celebrate the Queen's Pearl Jubilee, firing magnesium pyrotechnics above the city to mark the occasion.

The Excalibur Heavy Destroyers are also typically found with the Victory class or other capital ships. Their role is to deter smaller attack vessels from swarming the immense Carrier as well as other large command vessels.

The Hochmeister is a mechanical marvel crewed by Teutonic Knight-Luminaries. These Vitruvian colossi stride the seabed waiting for the perfect time to strike, launching upwards on powerful hydro jets. The Hochmeister erupts from the sea, water cascading off its hull as its huge Zweihander sword cleaves through enemy vessels in an awesome display of Imperial might. As all machines of war in the Imperium arsenal, their Colossi can be refitted to suit a different purpose. The Metzger Vitruvian Colossus exchanges the sword and shoulder-mounted turrets for more devastating weaponry such as the Uber Flak Vierling and the Claw Arc Projector. Both of these come directly from the vaults of the Teutonic Knight-Luminaries and are therefore rarely seen. When one of these Colossi appears in the midst of combat a cheer will erupt from the crews aboard the nearby Imperium ships as they are seen as an omen of victory, usually for good reason.

Built in various configurations over the years, the Sagittarii is a typical pre-war cutter, if ‘typical’ can even be applied to such a specialist ship. Almost all the ship’s power is consumed by the drives, necessitating the low power N-12 Artillery Cannon. Instead, add a set of launch bays and you have the Baleares, one of the fastest carriers in mankind’s fleets, embodying the concept of the pre-war pocket carrier.

This set contains 3 Resistance Cutters, all able to be built as either Sagittarii or Balaeres variants. The Sagittarii fills the classic Cutter role: annoying the enemy at high speed! The fastest ship in a Resistance fleet, it can bring its N-12 Artillery Cannons to bear frighteningly early, and often without too much support, leaving that for the rest of your ships. Although not very accurate, a squad of three can wreck even a medium Cruiser with one barrage and a bit of luck. The Wraith is the archetypal cutter: a small, fast hunter of already fast enemy scouts, outliers and support vessels. Currently, nothing the UCMF possesses can outrun a Wraith. Through the use of its siphon, the Parasite can drain excess hull energy from other ships and take it into itself, redirecting it to overcharge its Oculus weapons to cruiser-level

destructive potential.

The Wraith Cutter is blisteringly fast, and not too shabby at shooting either! Like most Scourge, you have to get in close to best use it, but with a Thrust of 16", that won't be hard. Its Plasma Brand provides the Scourge with a Close Action (Beam) weapon, which turns this from an annoying ship to a potentially terrifying one. The Parasite Radiation Leech is a little weirder! Its Energy Siphon ability feeds on nearby Spikes, both friendly and enemy. The larger Spike you absorb, the more powerful your Occulus Rays will become; a squad of three can put out a potential 27 damage! Although they'll be lit up like a Christmas tree, so expect some heavy counter-fire if you ever manage to make that happen.

Hilariously fast by human standards, even the Scourge cannot outrun the Caesium. By mounting a specialised version of the disruptor, it is designed specifically for targeting small ships. Based on a light, fast cutter hull, the Gallium’s only weapon defines it: the Bio Atomiser Array. A hit will indiscriminately rupture living cells, causing brain haemorrhage, heart attacks, and catastrophic malfunctions.

This set contains 3 Shaltari Cutters, all able to be built as either Caesium or Gallium variants. There are parts to build 3 ships, of either variant, giving you extra speed and firepower.

Shaltari Cutters do two things and they do them very well: get in quick, and shoot things to pieces! These ships are easy to fit into your list, and provide some really annoying harassers for your opponent. The Caesium is designed to destroy small ships hanging on the back-field (take that, Limas), its Focused Disruptors much easier to use thanks to the Vectored rule. The Gallium is a little slower, but has a potentially devastating weapon. The Bio Atomiser Array does no damage, but as a Close Action (Beam) with Corruptor, you'll bypass all armour and put a load of Corruptor tokens on any enemy that gets too close. With 6 Attack, that's a lot of annoyance for your opponent; classic Shaltnanigans!

Reykjaviks generally operate ahead of the main fleet and are often tasked with making the first small but crucial kills in an engagement, using a pair of fixed UF-9000-S mass drivers: short-barrelled versions of those found on dreadnought turrets. The Nuuk’s ability to directly damage an opponent is limited, but a concentrated, close-range blast from its Haywire Blaster can render an enemy ship confused and unable to compute complex tasks, such as plotting firing solutions for all weapons.

Although not the fastest ships in the game, the UCM Cutters are tied for the fastest ships in the fleet, and with Vectored as well, that's maximum mobility! The Reykjavik is the ultimate in UCM interceptors: get in quick and unleash a hailstorm of mass driver fire! You'll have to be careful with positioning to make the most out of them, but with Outlier and Vectored, that'll be straightforward. The Nuuk is anything but straightforward! Its Haywire Blaster does no damage, but shuts down an enemy ship's systems, sending them onto Standard Orders for the round. Especially deadly against Scourge on Silent Running, or large ships like Dreadnoughts!

Though their navy is small, the Salamanders have become the self-proclaimed guardians of the Three Kings, and take it upon themselves to police the surrounding Infant Sea. The slaving ships of the Twilight Kin and the bonefleets of the Ahmunites have felt the particular fiery wrath of the Salamanders on many occasions, while all pirates know to flee when they see the distinctive fanned sails of Salamander vessels on the horizon.

Of all the Battleships upon the seas in the last 50 years the Britannia Class of the Crown has been considered the heaviest. That is until the Empire launched the Kongo Class Heavy Battleship. One of the deadliest warships to ply the seas of the Dystopian Age, the Kongo is crewed by some of the finest sailors in all of Japan. The design of this behemoth was always aimed at making it as armoured as possible while still retaining speed and manoeuvrability as much as the best Japanese naval engineers could manage. Named after a legendary mountain in the Osaka Prefecture, this vessel truly lives up to the name. With thick armour plates and formidable weapons the Kongo class are the pride of the Japanese fleet.

The supporting cruisers that are assigned to Battlefleets alongside the Kongo vary greatly. From the imposing Hokkaido Heavy Cruiser down to the nimble Kanagawa Monitor there is a cruiser variant for every mission. Japanese Cruiser groups are typically accompanied by Chita Submersible Automata. These engineering wonders are equal to the mechanical creations of the Covenant of the Enlightened and are used to protect the fleet from threats beneath the waves as well as assisting in assaults. While the Chita are designed to operate independently for lengthy periods, they lack the endurance of the much larger Kaiju class automata. Ishikawa strike cruisers and Yamaguchi Attack Cruisers are essential in maintaining these escorts far from a drydock, their moon pools enabling repairs and refuelling of the Chita to take place.

The Okinawa and Miyagi Class Cruisers are equipped with limited numbers of reconnaissance aircraft that act as spotters and limited aerial defence. When needs must they can also perform bombing runs on enemy shipping but usually only when supported by other aerial units.

The Japanese favour Kyoto frigates when running their patrols between the far-flung

islands of their homeland. The vessels are ideally suited for this task and for new sailors a year on a Kyoto is their first experience of the proud naval traditions of the Blazing Sun.

These mighty vessels once boldly plied new space, often commanding smaller exploration fleets on random jump expeditions. The Pathfinder is the smallest of the three, and you should be able to build 2 in one box. The Explorer is in the middle, and the Coloniser is the largest Dreadnought we've ever made!

With 68 pieces in this set (not including 2 Dropfleet bases and a bunch of MDF spacers to help with construction), you're able to build your Dreadnought your way. This is by far the most modular space ship kit we've ever made, and probably the modular space ship kit in the world.

There are almost infinite ways to build your Dreadnought, with rules that encourage freedom of choice. You can have a nicely balanced ship with a mixture of launch assets and weapons, or half a dozen torpedoes. You can take all broadsides or loads of turrets - the choice is yours!

Note that due to the size and modularity of this kit it is only recommended for advanced modellers. Some parts will need heating and bending to fit perfectly straight and slight gaps might need filling. The Lysander class Lighter has been a lynchpin in the UCM’s covert ops since it entered service in 2669. It is the UCMF’s first fully cloaked warship, pushing multiple 1st gen classified stealth systems to their current limits of scale. The class is equipped for extended infiltrations including limited surface landings to scout potential invasion sites and support Resistance groups.

Initially the class was Level-6 classified and generally reserved for Marine Force Black - the UCM’s most elite troops under the Office of Naval Intelligence. Rumours circulated among the admiralty, where demands for access to such a tool grew from whispers into shouts. As the Battle for Earth loomed, the Lysander’s existence was confirmed and production ramped up. While still precious assets, limited numbers are now available to support regular frontline operations and first strike incursions.

This set contains 6 UCM Lysander Stealth Lighters. With superlative stealth capabilities, this little ship is the perfect special ops craft.

Cast in a single piece, the model has fine detail and a smooth canopy synonymous with UCM design. Lysanders have Full Cloak and a Signature of 0", which makes them some of the stealthiest ships in the game - rivals even to Scourge! The Lysander has bays of Dropships and can even scan Clusters, making it a valuable target for your opponents, who will have to dedicate significant resources to dealing with these outliers.

The support ships that escort the Flagship vessels of the Enlightened Fleets fill some very specialist roles. The Plinius Support Carrier carries dozens of Scythe Drones and can launch them from hydraulic ramps. This allows the Plinius to partially submerge when the ramps are closed making it very difficult to see and target. Built around the same hull as the Plinius are a number of other Cruisers. The Quintilian bombardment cruiser mounts heavy rockets that it can launch at distant targets before returning below the waves. The Tacitus Assault Cruiser favours two hardpoints for turrets, most often Particle Beamers. The Claudius Merchantman is designed with extra hull space and is the backbone of Enlightened logistics, the ingenious engineers still managing to squeeze in a number of torpedo launchers to protect them from pirates and other hostiles.

While these Cruisers are able to lurk just below the surface the Diogenese and Praxilla Class Submarines are able to operate at significant depths. These large Automata operate under a number of pre-programmed subroutines and are effective at hunting down and destroying enemy vessels.

The Tianlong Draconic Colossus uses a combination of rotor engines and repulsion fields to remain aloft. Originally created to patrol the airspace near the Zhanmadao Sky Fortresses and Ziwei Sky Bastions, the Tianlong swoop down, their skilled crews getting the most out of these marvels of Engineering. The Tianlong can be outfitted with different weapons located in the mouth and tail. The choice of the Heavy Huoqiang or the Heat Lancette is a difficult one for most Captains to make. The Heavy gun battery can also be removed in favour of additional crew space to house a squadron of Bushi Ryu. These highly trained Samurai use rocket-propelled armour to descend to assault enemy vessels in hand to hand combat.

Despite the fact that King Sun Li of Korea holds responsibility for all air technology the Emperors Ming and Shinuza have utilised a loophole to jointly commission the construction of a Draconic Colossus to provide air support for their own units. This has caused some amount of frustration for The Cloud Dragon and he has tried to have the Colossi decommissioned or brought under his oversight on several occasions. The Forum, however, has resisted such moves to dismantle such magnificent symbols of the Empire.

There are occasions when squadrons of Tianlong are sent on strike missions, if so they are often supported on the sea by Gong destroyers. These fast, but well-armed vessels are ideal for long-range, fast attacks, complimenting the Draconic Colossi well.
