Samurai culture has both military and feudal culture. Everyone fits into the social pyramid where a leader had his trusted supporters under his command. The Takashi retainers are all capable warriors in the service of a Takashi Samurai of a higher rank, willing to lay down their lives in service. The Takashi Clan have won the right to rule the Isles of Jwar. Despite the defeat of their sworn enemy in the Dragon Wars, they find themselves being summoned to arms yet again, as the Isles are plagued by danger from all sides. The end of the war has not brought peace, as they had imagined. Demons of old, sinister cults and open rebellion from rival clans have pushed the Takashi back into the fray. Karu is the leader of a small but noble samurai family. His dedication to protecting his lands and following the honourable path may have gone entirely unnoticed by the world until three princesses of the imperial house were ambushed on his lands. After giving them aid and helping them on their way, Karu left to follow them to aid in their quest, not knowing if he will even be able to find them again.

Karu is a powerful samurai and his great Zanbato can do immense damage. The combination of Tireless and Bansai means he can charge into combat and still out activate the enemy. His Ki Feat allows for damaging or even killing multiple enemies at once.
