  • Since the creation of the first primitive maps, there have been parts of the world where monsters lay and sailors fear to wonder. The Empire have been inspired by this to create their own monstrosities of the deep. Marvels of engineering created not only to sow fear and doubt in the minds of their enemies but also to demonstrate the mechanical mastery of the Empire. Using the most advanced engineering techniques, overseen by Empress Shinzua herself, huge automata in the form of giant squid have been developed and successfully engineered. The instruction cylinders for these submerged creations are among the most complex outside of the Enlightened fleets.

They have become horror stories told about only when crews are safe on shore leave. Any survivors refuse to discuss them while at sea should they incur the wrath of the Ika. In this way the Ika have become exactly what they were designed to be, the monsters that sailors fear. Miniatures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Unit Cards are not included and can be found on the Dystopian Wars website.

  • The great powers of the Dystopian Age are constantly testing each other's boundaries, fighting for territory and resources. The Imperium, while comfortably controlling miles of the Greenland coastline, had decided to make a push into the Labrador Sea, to claim some of the Crown's Dominions in Canada. It was believed that in the face of an overwhelming military presence in the region, the Crown would yield and allow the fishing and gas fields to be ceded to the Imperium. With the knowledge that an ill-timed exercise by the Union to the southwest of Canada would draw much of the Canadian airforce and focus to counter this buildup, Kommodore Wilhelmina von Hoeppner was given the Kaiser's blessing to begin the special operation.

The initial forays by the Prussian airships were met by the anticipated patrols from the Canadian Aerial Defence Force. Vast Imperium forces efficiently and ruthlessly silenced these valiant aircraft. leaving the east coast unawares and poorly defended in the face of this Prussian onslaught. It was only in the opening stages of the naval battles that followed that the Crown became aware of the Imperium's intentions, but by then the Atlantic Fleet had been left very much alone in the fight.

Military campaigns take time and logistics to implement, and in the lull following this initial battle, urgent requests for reinforcements to both the High Commission in Ottawa and Canadian Naval Command. Fortunately, the British 14th Rotor Expeditionary Division was on manoeuvres off the coast of Ireland under Air Marshal Clive Spottswoode. The 14th had already followed up on intercepted Luftstreitkrafte communication chatter and triangulated a Prussian refuelling convoy in the mid-Atlantic. Spottswoode immediately saw the threat and, after making use of the captured Imperium supplies, was proceeding at full speed to the Labrador coast.

The Prussian aerial battlefleets began their offensive, led by a mighty Stark Imperium class skyfortress, and supported by aerial and naval assets. The scattered Canadian defences soon rallied and began making strikes at the Prussian forces causing Kommodore von Hoeppner to split off squadrons of her Kreigsturm Assault Airships to hunt down the Canadian patrols in the hope they could take them unawares. What von Hoeppner did not know, but the Kaiser later said she should have anticipated, was that the Canadians had redeployed three squadrons of their new Toronto Class Control Cruisers to the region just the week before the invasion. These advanced vessels proved crucial in tracking Imperium attacks and coordinating Canadian defences at sea, slowing the Prussian advance and buying the Crown reinforcements precious time.

Sturginium Skies showcases the beleaguered Canadian forces as they hold off against a powerful Imperium attack. Will Air Marshal Spottswoode and the 14th Rotor Expedition arrive in time to make a difference for the Crown? Or will Kommodore von Hoeppner and her Prussian battlefleets reach their target for the glory of the Imperium?

Miniatures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Unit Cards are not included and can be found on the Dystopian Wars website.

  • The PHR is an ever advancing enigma, whatever these cruisers were designed for is beyond any intelligence report the UCM has access to. Only being seen during the Battle for Earth performing seemingly clandestine operations, meeting any questions from the Admiralty with staunch silence.

The Prototype Bellerophon is a more bulky variant of the standard PHR Bellerophon cruiser. Only being seen in a scant few engagements, the UCM has little combat data on the performance of these ships. Due to their recent sightings, the Admiralty has designated these as "prototype" ships.

The Prototype Orpheus seems to be based on the same hull type as the Prototype Bellerophon. This version of the Orpheus has its bulk lander bays tucked underneath the armour on the upper hull section. This offers excellent protection from enemy attacks, though requires a different flight path to ground than the standard Orpheus would require.

These ships offer an alternate visual style but still follow the normal rules for the PHR Bellerophon and Orpheus cruisers.

Contains 2 resin miniatures and plastic Dropfleet Commander bases and flight stands.

Resin miniatures supplied unpainted and unassembled. This kit will require cleaning and assembly, and could need some small holes filled. Other ships and gaming mats are for scale purposes only.

  • Despite maintaining existing pre-war designs, the shipyards of Kalium have made little in the way of innovation. That was until the Battle for Earth, where Kalium shipyards made efforts to "brand" their new refined ships following losses.

The Kalium KNC-5 Line Cruiser is a Kalium designed light cruiser. These ships are a refinement over the pre-war ships that Kalium had been producing in vast numbers. Now more indicative of the brutalist design aesthetic that permeates Kalium designs. The KNC-5 Line Cruiser is equipped with two Vent Cannon Turrets as well as NC-16 Missile Banks.

While the KNC-5 is geared towards risky close range combat, the KNC-12 offers a more supportive role within the Kalium fleet. This Fleet Carrier has a full broadside of launch bays, with prodigious fighter and bomber compliment, and can support its wings with a top mounted Vent Cannon Turret.

These ships offer an alternate visual style but still follow the normal rules for Resistance Light Cruisers with the appropriate loadout.

Contains 2 resin miniatures and plastic Dropfleet Commander bases and flight stands.

  • The year is 2673.
160 years ago humanity was evicted from their home, invaded by the terrifying Scourge. A parasitic race determined to capture or kill every living being, they overwhelmed mankind’s defences.
Humanity escaped to the Colonies, abandoning Earth and the Cradle Worlds to their attackers. Now the United Colonies of Mankind have come back, fighting a bitter war for their home known as the Reconquest. They are beset on all sides not just from the Scourge, but the ancient alien Shaltari, the abandonists of the Post-Human Republic, and even on occupied worlds by the embittered Resistance.

Dropfleet Commander is a game of planet-bound fleet combat in the far future. Command fleets of colossal warships, unleash strike craft and deploy your ground forces in strategic naval battles above a war-torn planet.

Seizing ground and space objectives wins games, but a fierce tactical acumen is needed to act and react to your opponents moves. Predicting the flow of battle and directing your ships to counter your opponents and ensure the safe deployment of ground assets is key.

Written by Andy Chambers, David J Lewis, Scott Burns and Lewis Clarke, this 64 page rulebook contains the 1.5 version rules. With everything you need to deploy your forces, including scenarios to play and help building your fleet for games. Take your battles into low orbit and and help (or stop) the Reconquest!

  • The Battle for Earth was disastrous for the occupying Scourge fleet. With a staggering amount of ships destroyed, it was only a matter of time before reinforcements arrived. What the Triumvirate was not expecting was these ships to be so...new.

The Solar Wyvern is an updated variant of the standard Wyvern. Constructed in seemingly lower quality than those that took earth over 160 years ago, these cruisers are no less deadly. Wrecks captured by the UCM show that these cruisers are remarkably new, possibly no older than the start of the Reconquest.

The mainstay of the Scourge fleet has also been seen as a "Solar" variant. A Solar Sphinx is no less deadly than their ancient counterparts, though much less reliable in the long term. Something that doesn't matter as much when they're not expected to last long enough to need even a single refit.

These ships offer an alternate visual style but still follow the normal rules for the Scourge Sphinx and Wyvern cruisers.

Contains 2 resin miniatures and plastic Dropfleet Commander bases and flight stands.

  • Despite their technological supremacy, it was inevitable that the Shaltari would incur losses during their constant interference in the Reconquest. The fleet stationed above Aaru contains patterns similar to the ancient Shaltari battleships, albeit at a cruiser tonnage.

The Aaru Basalt is a carrier of ancient design, though no less potent than its contemporary counterpart. Primarily seen above Aaru, these have been given the name as a way of differentiating ships of comparable role and performance.

Also seen primarily above Aaru is a variant of the Emerald Mothership. Equally as old a design as the Aaru Basalt and just as rare. The tribes must be getting thin on ships if they're using ancient designs to hold a planet.

These ships offer an alternate visual style but still follow the normal rules for the Shaltari Basalt and Emerald cruisers.

  • Due to the attrition the UCMF suffered during the Battle for Earth, several manufacturers have gained lucrative military contracts. The Titania Aerospace Corporation continues to innovate and is now capable of producing small quantities of combat capable cruisers.

The Titania New Rio and New Berlin (named after the cities on Titania) are the product of the newly operating Titania Fleet Systems. It's two flagship cruisers are optimisations on already existing designs, the Rio and Berlin. Matching their combat performance blow for blow, the Titania variants offer a greater operational lifetime, reducing time spent undergoing refits in drydock.

While deployed in small numbers, the maintenance cost of smaller engagements and general wear and tear is a great improvement over their Nicolum counterparts. Despite this the UCMF is slow to adopt these efficient designs, due to the lack of spare parts and no compatibility with current UCM designs.

These ships offer an alternate visual style but still follow the normal rules for the UCM Rio and Berlin cruisers.

Contains 2 resin cruisers and plastic Dropfleet Commander bases and flight stands.

  • The architects of the Dystopian Age, the Covenant of the Enlightened wield their formidable intellects to sweep aside those ignorant or deluded who stand in the way of Scientific Progress. These masters of technology covet knowledge above all things and believe that it is only they who can steer humanity on a path to enlightenment. With their wondrous war-engines, the Covenant of the Enlightened take every opportunity to demonstrate their technological supremacy. The discoveries that were intended to herald a new era for humanity are instead used to punish those who would misuse them. Only when the Covenant are lauded as the rightful leaders of the Earth, can the world be brought into a new dawn of achievement and prosperity.

A flagship of the Enlightened fleet, Vault ships were conceived as massive floating platforms to deploy their larger engineering and scientific marvels. In this manner, the Archimedes class is usually fitted with either a Callimachus Chrono-Lathe or Diophantus Chaos-Orb, both so intricate and sophisticated in their crafting that like much that is not understood in the Dystopian Age, they are considered magical by the uneducated..

Other fleets are centred around the graceful, and superbly equipped Nansen Explorer. Designed for long voyages far from friendly ports, with extensive laboratories, training facilities and cartographic equipment. The Nansen class is in many ways the ultimate expression of Covenant naval ambitions.

  • The Marena Vitruvian Colossus is a wonder of engineering that inspires ice-cold fear in the hearts of the enemies of the Commonwealth. A towering sight on land and no less impressive at sea, it is as versatile as it is imposing. Its Mag-Rail Axe can be used to make crushing attacks that rain down upon enemy vessels or be launched at range causing a magnetic field that can stick a vessel on its current course. This can be particularly troublesome when combined with the Cryo-Generator that stands as the head of the machine, creating icebergs ahead of the opposing craft that it now may find itself impossible to avoid.

The Boyar Heavy Frigate packs a surprising punch for its size. Woe betide any captain who mistakes these vessels for a standard frigate. Their combined firepower can be surprisingly devastating if one makes a mistake identifying them. The squadron captains have used this to their advantage by meeting their opponents head on, appearing to be less threatening Rurik Frigates to the unaware, only to turn and show their second gun batteries at the last second where they unleash twice the firepower that was expected. This is often the last mistake that their enemies make.

  • The Scandinavians are a group of proud naval nations in the Imperium. Their vessels are fabricated primarily by the Norwegians at Akers Mekaniske Verksted. This large shipyard produces huge numbers of Hoth Heavy Corvettes for use by the Scandinavians throughout the Imperium’s fleets.

Prowling the bitter northern seas, the Scandinavian’s Odin class Reavers are often painted in dark colours by their crews, preferring to strike at dusk or at night.

Built around an exceptional propulsion system, the engineering behind the Gungnir is a closely guarded secret amongst the Scandinavians. Captains have standing orders to scuttle their ships rather than let it fall into enemy hands. The explosive charges throughout the engine room ensure that the advantage will remain with the northern nations.

Long sharp lines distinguish the silhouette of the lethal Jotunn. A prized command by Scandinavian captains, the powerful vessel has advanced targeting systems to enable it to maximise its firepower against its target.

Extremely expensive build and maintain, 1st Rates tended to be reserved for flagship duty with admirals. They were more often than not mothballed during peacetime (known as being put into 'Ordinary') only to be activated ('commissioned') in times of war.

  • 6th Rates were the smallest of the warships in the Royal Navy rating system, which would have been generally adopted worldwide. This category covered ships with between 20 and 28 guns on a single deck. Although not considered to be powerful enough to take their place alongside larger ships of the line they performed well in other duties and in smaller engagements where the 1st and 2nd Rate man-o-war weren't necessary. Well known 6th Rates include the fictional vessel HMS Surprise as captained by author Patrick O'Brian's Capt. Jack Aubrey whilst C.S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower takes command of HMS Atropos in one of his novels.
