The Confederate Rebellion, such as it is, lacks many of the resources even settlers in the Frontier take for granted. Driven into the bayous and wilderness by the Union’s occupation of the Southern states, the Rebellion must avoid all but the smallest of hamlets; lacking the funds to take advantage of even the most sympathetic of suppliers. As such, heavy vehicles are few and far between to aid their cause. For mobility's sake, those few rebels that do need a mount make do with the temperamental and almost obsolete Blackhoof. Over the years rider and mount have formed a bond as strong as between any partners in strife. These mechanical horse automata have proven to be well suited to the dense terrain the rebels operate in and are far quieter than any Iron Horse or Interceptor.

Of all the outlaws operating on the Union Frontier, the story of Juan Ponce de Leon and his Conquistadores is by far the most incredible. Ponce de Leon is a nobleman with a delusional mind. Having emerged from the Florida coast with claims that he is the very same man who set out in search of the Fountain of Youth nearly three hundred years ago, he believes that he and his Conquistadores have been granted eternal life and, with them, he now explores this new world like a travelling lord. The Wendigo are the lore keepers of a world long since past. They are part of an exotic and ancient breed of creatures known collectively as the Carcosa. Their mythology speaks of the Carcosa being the true inheritors of the Earth, the first people created by the Great Spirit in ages past. But, so the story goes, the Great Spirit was ashamed by the Carcosa's bestial nature and abandoned them in favour of creating a more perfect inheritor, the mewling and myriad humanity. Competing for resources in those early days, the human usurpers hunted the Carcosa almost to extinction. Now their kind has been reduced to a mere handful scattered across the world and so the Wendigo and their Carcosa kin have allied themselves to the Hex. The Wendigo now use their tales of betrayal and abandonment to fuel the telling of a final story for the Carcosa - a tale of revenge and retribution on humanity.

Becoming famous is hard. Losing that fame can be even harder. When Basil Karlo lost his theatrical notoriety, he took being resentful to the extreme. A B-list actor who wasn't included in the remake of a classic horror movie that he starred in, Basil went in a dramatic direction with his revenge. He snapped and got into character as that film's monster, Clayface, and killed members of the cast and crew. In one night, Basil had gone from playing villains to becoming one.

Still hungry to be on top of the acting pyramid, Basil asked the Penguin for help—desperate times, after all, call for desperate measures. Penguin gave the thespian a hunk of clay as payment for a job, and the mystical material leapt into Basil, giving him a malleable body and remarkable shape-shifting powers. He can shift his body and face and change his voice to resemble anyone in the world, and the results are indistinguishable from the real thing. He can also morph his limbs into weapons or use his body to smother an enemy. On the downside, in his natural form he looks like a pile of walking, talking mud. That's not exactly the sort of image entertainment magazines and websites want on their covers.

Clayface has done horrible things over the years and has operated on the wrong side of the law, but he's not exactly evil. He’s occasionally been willing to work with Batman and has often teamed up with other Gotham City heroes. More than anything, he still longs for the stage and screen and would do just about anything to once again find himself in the limelight—redeemed in the hearts and minds of his fans.

Team Flash, nicknamed Super Friends, is a vigilante team dedicated to fighting meta-human criminals, who were affected by the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator explosion, which was triggered by Eobard Thawne disguised as Harrison Wells. Team Flash also fights other criminals that endanger the people of Central City and beyond whenever possible. The current members are Barry Allen, Cisco Ramon, Caitlin Snow, Joe West, Iris West-Allen, and Ralph Dibny.

The team's goal is to capture meta-humans who use their new-found superpowers for evil intentions. They also fight against crime in the name of justice. They help the Flash on missions and give info on where Barry needs to go next and what is going on there. Their main goal would be protecting Central City and its citizens, however, they sometimes help surrounding cities (usually Star City) or beyond with their criminals and threats.

One could be forgiven for taking Countess Augusta Byron's perpetual air of melancholy as a symptom of her upbringing. After all, when one is raised around some of the most emotive and creative minds of their time, it is surely impossible not to absorb some of that need to create. All artists crave the perfect result, whether it be a musical composition that can reduce men to tears, or a painting so beautiful that not a single soul can step past without pausing to enjoy its beauty. The Augusta's canvas is infinitely more complex. Her magnum opus is herself. If she shows an interest in a particular individual's face or admires the length of their legs, that person is likely to witness firsthand her inconceivable feats of fleshcrafting. The Countess has improved upon her own person over the years until nobody – herself included – can even recall how she once looked. Presently, Augusta towers above the average woman, at seven feet in height, and although it could be argued that her entire body is nothing more than a patchwork, a mish-mash of disparate parts, it cannot be denied that the whole is striking and certainly memorable.

The New York Tribune recently published an article cautioning the use of advanced technology as it may “corrupt the moral fibre of our society.” Should the experiments conducted by Countess Augusta Byron be made common knowledge there would surely be an outcry amongst those of a sensitive and civilised disposition. Even amongst her fellow Enlightened Peers, the Countess is looked upon with a peculiar blend of awe and fear. A pioneer in galvanism, the Countess often applies that peculiar science into forming reanimated Creations - a blend of flesh, steel and lightning that creates a creature many times greater than the sum of its parts. The Countess has been know to cosset her ‘children’, always seeking new and better methods for improving them and granting them longevity. Some men earn their legends. Others contribute to the legends of others. Some, like the Marshal known as ‘Wild’ Bill Hickok simply make their own legends up and recount them for anybody who will spare the time to listen. Hickok is a charmer; a storyteller extraordinaire and a man well versed in what the renowned showman P T Barnum would call ‘the noble art of humbug’. He knows well the magic a good yarn can bring to others, having spent some considerable time with a travelling show in his younger years. His marksmanship skills were as sharp then as they are now and many a contented visitor would leave the show that night swearing that they truly had seen the greatest gunman on Earth.

For all his dramatic tendencies and his overblown, often hugely exaggerated tales, Hickok is a canny, shrewd soul. Like so many of his ilk, he fell into the role of Lawman without intending to. When he first came out west, he did so with the intention of setting up a travelling show of his own, perhaps bringing entertainment to what he perceived as the poverty-stricken settlers of the frontier. Instead of the struggling little shanty towns he envisioned, he found flourishing settlements, rich with prospects, loaded with opportunity and marred by those who operated outside the law. Along with his friend and fellow former showman, Bill Cody, he excelled in the field of scouting and reconnaissance. As a young ranger, he discovered a love for this unexpected new career and when Cody headed back east, Hickok remained, eager to keep his skills as one of the newly-named Rangers sharp and focused. He grew strong and powerful, mastering the use of a rifle as well as his pistols.

As the years passed, Hickok took others under his wing, training them in the arts of wilderness living and tracking. One young woman in particular – Grace Myrtle – has grown to be every bit his equal in skill and is in possession of a personality as big as his own. They have become confidantes, even good friends and he values her opinion more than he’d ever openly admitted.

The stories of his own greatness that he told in his youth have long been forgotten, replaced with stories that are every bit as true as he tells them… mostly, anyway. Alongside Myrtle, Hickok continues to thrill his allies and enemies in equal measure bringing justice to those that need it most. Often Bill will find his paths cross with the mercenary Copelie Sisters, the dutiful Nate Berenger and the drunken but dependable Calamity Jane and together they form Bill’s legendary Ranger Showboat. Even with a job to do, Hickok is still fond of exaggerating and as long as he has a glass of whisky, a comfortable seat and a willing audience, he will still wheel out the showman of old and entertain a crowd with the wild tales of Wild Bill.

Ever since the Classified Objectives were first introduced in the ITS rules, both players and organizers have been asking for an alternative to the selection system by means of a die roll on the various Classified Model Charts. In answer to this request here you have the Classified Deck - a card deck summarizing all the Classified Objectives -. The Classified Deck will speed up objectives selection during tournaments, where time is of the essence, and it will become the best tool to check the details of each objective in play. Moreover, it will allow the referees and organizers to check the objectives during the game.

The Classified Deck is the only official and authorized method to select the Classified Objectives during the ITS tournaments. However, during unofficial games it will still be acceptable to use the various Classified Model Charts included in the N3 book.

Many a fireside tale includes the appearance of Wayland the Smith. Often such stories feature a desperate and lonely rider who suffers a malfunction with her Iron Horse or the machinery of a struggling mine fails and the town faces ruin. Wanting no reward, save for a silver dollar if it can be spared, this man of legend appears from the horizon and fixes the problem. Before more than a thank you can be uttered, the stoic giant is on his way again, never staying in the same place for more than a night once his work is done. Wayland is an impressively large man with a strength as formidable as the steel with which he plies his trade. Often he lends a hand along with Panday Beck, his erstwhile assistant, who is seldom far from his side. What the fates have in store for Wayland as he roams the Frontier, who can say? Certainly, while Wayland doesn’t go looking for trouble, his journey has taken him to some of the highest and lowest of company. Even the alien Watchers and scheming Hex and Order have had reason to be thankful for his intervention and assistance. Quite how this mysterious wanderer can aid such wildly differing factions is but one further mystery that adds to his legend.

The corruption of Walks Looking was the doorway to the tainting of the Warrior Nation. Ghost Wolf's daughter became tainted by The Hex and transformed into Wicasasni to become a twisted creature of malice and vengeance. Wicasasni took great delight in warping and corrupting the minds and bodies of her own people, creating a “Dark Nation”. Though Wicasasni was eventually captured by Ghost Wolf and the tainted aspect driven out, the wraith-like creature that emerged was just as deadly and even more malevolent than before. Walks Looking returned to her people with half a soul, the other half now sustaining her darker aspect that had been given independence in the exorcism. While Wicasasni can no longer warp the flesh of her followers she is still surrounded by twisted men and women who are the product of her previous corrupting influence. Khali, Camazotz, Seke and Nizhoni now work with Wicasasni and together the Dark Nation will tear down the world of humanity and remake it in their own image.

The ruthless pursuit of scientific progress can blind many to the moral questions raised by such progress. Such is the case with many of the creations of the Covenant of the Enlightened, Brutes being a prime example of this blindness. Through the use of RJ-1027, the subject’s impressive frame has its musculature increased significantly and performance and strength are further enhanced with mechanical augmentations. The result is a hulking servant capable of wielding the heaviest firearms and able to fold sheet metal as if it were paper. Brutes are employed as enforcers, soldiers, and bodyguards by the Enlightened and have proven to be formidable in all these roles.
