Shaolin monks practice Zen Buddhism and are outstanding martial artists. As the entirety of their training takes place inside their monastery, they are less than stellar with firearms, but in hand-to-hand combat they are nigh unbeatable. The strict discipline and rigorous training of their temple makes them instinctive fighters, fast and deadly.

The Yuan Yuan are pirate scrap dealers without a country, that offer themselves as mercenaries. They are outlaws, despised by a society that holds its nose long enough to use them as hired cannon fodder. The Yuan Yuan are good brawlers who join these undisciplined, loud units for the money.

Kukibo, the apprentice, is eager to learn what the others of his species can teach him. He fights alongside others of the same feather, and because of his youth, he can keep up with those of the Blue Gale, long-known for their dazzling speed and flying prowess. Kukibo, a wielder of magic, a shugenja, can smite the Tengu’s foes from above with pure lightning as well as make the storm dance to his tune.

Kukibo can damage enemies with his ranged attack, but it’s his Storm Manipulation Ki Feat that stands out. Keita was old, even at the Battle of Sagoya, and even though he wished to stand and die with his clan, his orders were to protect the children so that the Shiho clan stood a chance of surviving. Keita has honoured that final order every day of his life by keeping them safe with his blade and teaching them the finer points of swordsmanship as they grew. Yet, there is something to Keita that makes people want to bow even deeper in his presence. Perhaps it is his lordly demeanour and inherent nobility? Whatever it may be, he is a welcome and stalwart asset to the Shiho clan in the fight to throw off the yoke of the Takashi imposters and usurpers.

Keita helps the warband in many ways; if you buff his poor melee skill, he can be a viable fighter. But even without any melee exchanges, he offers Virtue Tokens with a wide range of effects that boost the Shiho’s inherent talent for unpredictability. In addition, his Deference Ki Feat can keep him safe from some attacks, which is helpful for a supporting model that needs to be close to the action.

There is little known about the Bakemono and even less understood. That they are different from one another is at best a guess, but after years of conflict against them, the Minimoto tells us of one type - so far - that defies any description of any kind. It would ring hollow had it not been reported by so many. It seems that when in the act of dying, the Yami’mure vomits forth an egg or capsule of some sort that immediately opens to reveal twin Bakemono that are at once ready to fight. There is no period of doe-eyed sentimentality; they simply grab their fallen siblings weapons and press on into the fray. If this genus is different from the others is unknown, and if they bring this reaction out in others is also unknown. What is known is that once you’ve witnessed this abomination, it’s something you’ll never forget.

If you thought Bakemono were a horde before, Yami’mure makes any Bakemono into potentially two more if they die. This ability combines with whichever Bakemono Horde Communal Card you are using, so it can manifest anywhere on the battlefield. This can more easily lead to vastly outnumbering the enemy and replacing casualties but beware; the newly hatched creatures are fragile and easier to kill than the full-grown Bakemono.

Life in the peaks of the Iron Mountains is harsh and unforgiving. It is a place of snow, ice, and blizzards, not one of second chances or mercy for the weak. There are but a handful of beings or beasts that can live in such an ungodly place and thrive. One such creature is Yuyokuma, a bear of prodigious size and strength with a shared soul affinity with the Minimoto clan, who worship bears as their ancestors did.

Like many Minimoto models, Yuyokuma asks your opponent just one thing: can you deal with this? The big bear automatically knocks down his melee opponents, has superb melee statistics and traits and is tough to kill in return. He will likely also inflict penalties from Frightened and Prone Markers in addition to having Melee Pool 4 as his base. This bear embodies the Minimoto’s ferocity and fighting spirit and is at home in any Minimoto themed Warband.

The Flame That Burns Underwater is an agent of the Rent in the Sky. Also known by the name given to her by Mother Hydra: Aphoom-Keh, the mistress of the ocean commands lead over her forces. Any unfortunate enough to encounter the Flame are unlikely to survive, either being battered by her monstrous tentacles, or torn apart by her magical abilities.

With giant tentacles that can harm anyone and everyone in range, it’s hard to surround her. Fully in the pocket of the ruling class, the City Guard are a force to be reckoned with. Well armed and armoured, there are much worse professions in Venice. If you don’t mind doing some questionable things, the coin is good!

The City Guard are part of the Patricians, and as such you can expect each fighter to outclass their peers. With a long ranged Marksman and two Guard Sentries, you’ll have command over the battlefield. A Heavy Guard will hold the line, while the Seven Years Veteran (the only one to have seen actual warfare) is a bold and inspiring fighter.

The Pegasus makes its kills though deploying swarms of armed nano-drones, quick and tiny enough to be difficult for point defences to counter. Meanwhile the Ourania is a highly-specialised, unarmed vessel that uses its oversized, advanced targeting link to relay gunnery information to larger ships towards the rear, greatly increasing their effective range.

The Pegasus Nan-Hive Cutter is a sleek and smooth ship, focusing on that classic PHR smooth armour plate *chef's kiss*. Built in various configurations over the years, the Sagittarii is a typical pre-war cutter, if ‘typical’ can even be applied to such a specialist ship. Almost all the ship’s power is consumed by the drives, necessitating the low power N-12 Artillery Cannon. Instead, add a set of launch bays and you have the Baleares, one of the fastest carriers in mankind’s fleets, embodying the concept of the pre-war pocket carrier.

This set contains 3 Resistance Cutters, all able to be built as either Sagittarii or Balaeres variants. There are parts to build 3 ships, of either variant, and with additional rudder pieces, you can assemble them in a variety of ways; both engines and nose can be put vertically or horizontally for more customisation.

The Sagittarii fills the classic Cutter role: annoying the enemy at high speed! The fastest ship in a Resistance fleet, it can bring its N-12 Artillery Cannons to bear frighteningly early, and often without too much support, leaving that for the rest of your ships. Although not very accurate, a squad of three can wreck even a medium Cruiser with one barrage and a bit of luck. Meanwhile the Baleares is a Pocket Carrier, providing Fighter & Bomber support for the rest of your fleet. With the same blistering speed, it can assist ships at a moment's notice - ideal for Resistance who typically have low Point Defence.
