When one makes their way into the Night's Watch, they aren't simply made a Sworn Brother immediately. While the organization has traditionally lax rules for recruitment, there is still a period where those that sign up are simply conscripts, being used where necessary to keep those south of The Wall safe. Eventually, if they survive, and with proper training, they will have the opportunity to join the Night's Watch proper. The battlefields of the 1900s have changed drastically from even a few decades prior. The King's Empire has adapted to the changing nature of war by creating the Grenadiers; soldiers who are trained in the use of grenade launchers. Fitted with the ability to use multiple types of ammo, these grenade launchers allow the Grenadiers to hunt the biggest threats of the battlefield: blocks of infantry soldiers and the massive Titans.

On the tabletop, the Grenadiers rely upon their grenade launchers to deal heavy damage to infantry units and Titans alike. They are a straightforward unit that attract a great deal of attention on the battlefield, if only due to the sheer amount of damage they are capable of unleashing.

The Lord of Steel is a title given to Abyssinia's greatest warrior. The title currently resides with Yokowo Yemo, a skilled fighter and brilliant tactician. Yokowo joined the armed services at the age of sixteen and has been rising through the ranks ever since.

The Lord of Steel is a fast, melee-based Commander. Unlike many Commanders, the Lord of Steel prefers to lead from the front and makes great use of his mobility and Stratagems to ensure victory.

There are many paths to walk when following the Burning Man, but none are as revered as the Warped. Though their bodies have been infused with magic, they have found themselves capable of controlling that power. The most impressive use of this power is the Warped's ability to open minor portals that allow them to quickly move from one

location to the next.

On the tabletop, the Warped are a solid melee unit that combines durability and offensive power with incredible mobility. Their ability to teleport directly into close combat with other Fireteams can be used both offensively and defensively, making them a versatile unit that forms the backbone of many Cult Companies.

The various Skulker species of the Gibbering Hordes embody stealth. Their skin pigmentation constantly changes to match their surroundings, making them very difficult to see until it is too late. They try to stick to dark places, slinking from shadow to shadow as they creep up on their unsuspecting prey. Worse yet, their incredibly sharp teeth contain potent venom, making them effective against even larger prey.

On the tabletop, Striped Skulkers are forward scouts and assassins that are more self-reliant than other Hordes forces. Unlike other units, it can sometimes be a good idea to let Striped Skulkers perish when attacked, as they can use the Endless Numbers Ability of the Gibbering Hordes Allegiance to come back almost anywhere in play.

It was once Elita Nura's dream to join the ranks of the Cor Caroli; to become a vessel for a fragment of the Allshard and to serve the Order more fully as such. Despite her desire, Nura was given command of the Spica Astraea - the Portal Vanguard. This elite team are sent in to conduct lightning raids on enclaves of Tainted men and women as well as covert missions. There are few places safe against a well-trained team armed with portal technology.

Nura believes that this assignment was as much because of her opposition to High Sircan Abner as her portal mastery and ability to command. The position dictated that she be promoted to the rank of Sircan and therefore able to urge Abner and his followers to more direct action against the Tainted. The High Sircan is a constant source of frustration for Nura and those within the Order who demand they take the fight to the Hex and uncover all those who have been turned by its corruption. She would be the spark that lights the fuse, the catalyst that starts the great crusade against their ancient foe.

Elita Nura continues to be held in check by Abner and while she is an advocate for change and a more aggressive approach, she lacks enough support to put enough pressure on him to make a change. It goes without saying that Nura fights with passion against any foe but especially those who have been tainted by the Hex. Her use of portals is second to none and she uses this to devastating effect on the battlefield by appearing from nowhere and laying waste with her Sircan Stave.

The other members of the Spica Astraea have been hand picked by Nura. Her trusted lieutenant is Aeron Bran, who has ascended through the ranks of the Spica in just a few years becoming a trusted field operative and has served Nura on countless missions. He is the and solid dependable centre of the team, always ready with a creative solution to any problem. In battle, he is ready to be deployed through a portal to engage the enemy with his Vibro Gauntlet and his family's Relic Pistol.

Janna Salto is a fellow devotee of portal technology and has been working alongside Nura for many years. She is not as outspoken as her leader and holds her own counsel during discussions regarding politics, but the pair work very well together and coordinate their portal network with ease. Janna has a highly disciplined mind and is stoic in the face of danger, allowing her to best deploy her Portal Glove as both a tool and a weapon. Salto also has contacts in the Union Secret Service and Infernal Affairs making her a vital component in the Orders intelligence gathering network.

Venatici Helios is utterly devoted to Nura. The sole survivor of a disastrous mission to Greece, Helios shows little sign of mental anguish or trauma and has instead proven both charismatic and effective at leading small groups of Spica on raids. Helios has contacts in a large number of frontier settlements and is able to rouse locals to take up arms to assist their team in achieving their goals, typically unbeknown to them.

To compensate for the relative fragility of the Astrea, Procyon Makara has attached several of her Cor Caroli to the division. Noth and Khaatan are excellent examples of their kind, both are a dominating presence on any battlefield they deploy to. Wielders of the deadly Stola Chain, these are incredibly difficult for a mortal to use let alone master to the level that these two have. Only with their experience of many lifetimes have they managed to perfect their art. The chains are launched with weighted blades at the end that wrap or pierce the enemy, who is then dragged in close for the killing blow. When used after emerging unexpectedly from a portal, the effect only adds to the terror sown by such demigods.

A laboratory accident in his youth left him deaf to the world. Not one to let human frailty defeat him, Edeson developed a new hearing device to overcome his disability. While fine-tuning the device during a trip to the ballet, Edeson became entranced by Mina Miller, the ballerina of the company. He fell in love with her and the pair were soon married. Dancing was Mina’s passion and as he worked he would often ask her to dance in his workshop in a private performance as his muse. When Mina was struck down by Polio, the science of the Enlightened saved her life, but she was forever mentally and physically debilitated by the disease. Desperate to see his wife smile, Thomas arranged for Gustave Eiffel to create her a new pair of legs and improve her body. The operation was a success and Mina is now more devoted than ever, tirelessly dancing for Edeson as he works long into the night. If Edeson has to travel, Mina usually accompanies him, now his lethal protector as much as a muse…

The moon-howl brothers of the mountains have long been allies to the Warrior Nation. In times of need, whole packs have been known to come to the aid of a beleaguered tribe. Hunting Wolves are extremely fast over open ground and rough terrain alike. Often one wolf will dart in against their prey, usually from behind, and take a swipe while another of the pack does the same. Working together in this way they can take down much larger opponents and once on the ground they go for the throat.
