• The Great Spirit manifests itself in many different ways. Spirit Walkers have the ability to alter their physical form into that of a hybrid between man and animal. Some in the Warrior Nation are blessed with the ability to move and control the flow of their life energy like Shaman such as Chief Raven Spirit. Others receive abilities that are more subtle yet no less impressive. In this way, Mahpia Napa discovered she had been gifted an affinity with animals and could understand and relate to them more easily than she could other humans. The ability was greatly increased when dealing with animals who had been touched by the Great Spirit.

When Mahpia Napa came of age, the Great Spirit sent her a hawk of tremendous size, with a wingspan greater than the length of two horses. She named the great bird Oniya and the pair were inseparable from that day forward as he bore her aloft into the clouds that inspired her name. So named Cloud Runner by the elders in her tribe, Mahpia Napa became the eyes of her people, scouting the land for signs of invaders and interlopers from the air and directing their warriors to where they would be most needed. Over time Cloud Runner began to relate to her people more easily and became a respected lesser chieftain, often found leading warbands beyond the Arizona Territory as far as Arkansas and Minnesota.

  • Doing time in Jail is an occupational hazard when you’re a bounty hunter in the Arizona Territories. For Lilith Hart, not having spent even a minute of her life behind bars was a boast she made on a regular basis. “‘Aint ‘til those Earp boys sprout wings they got a chance ‘a catchin’ me”, was a favourite of hers. Those individuals who bring in criminals for bounty often flirt with legality and Lilith Hart and her Posse are no exception. That was, of course, until she found herself out in Warrior Nation land in North Arizona, out of ammo, out of juice and out of luck. Quilt of Stars and her pack of wolves sniffed out the bounty hunter and dragged Hart kicking and screaming back to Marshal Reeves and Sheriff Bullock.

Sitting in her cell Hart spent a good deal of time pondering some of her recent life choices and came to the conclusion that going after John Moseby, “The Grey Ghost” was a job beyond even her abilities. They had grossly underestimated Moseby and his gang of freaks and wished she had someone on her team with more than one set of arms. That’s just where the trouble began though as it turned out Jack “Turkey Creek” Johnson was a friend of the Earps and all hell broke lose the following day. With the Tombstone boys hot on their heels Hart and Co. soon had to scatter to the four winds in order to try and avoid capture.

As it tuned out “those Earp boys” didn’t need to sprout wings, they just needed a handful of deputies in gyrocopters to chase Lilith down and force her to crash land out in the wilderness. It took less than a week for her Posse to find her and break her out of jail. Now the hornet’s nest has well and truly been kicked and deputies from across the Territories have been called up to hunt for the gang.

Forced into hiding in the little town of Rio Sonora, New Mexico, Lilith Hart and her band of wanted men lie in wait for the lawmen and other bounty hunters who are no doubt hot on their tail. Broad Arrow Jack might be the most notorious member of the Posse. His association with so many outlaws and his unrelenting disregard for the law has ensured his reputation precedes him. They say Jack has a wife in every state and that is reason enough to ensure he never stays in the same place for long. Thomas Tate Tobin, however, is a fellow with an unknown past. Many say that isn’t his real name, and while this is unremarkable for an outlaw, those who discover his real name and his history often pass it off as being merely a flight of fancy. The truth is the Tobin was once a member of Ponce de Leon’s band and was born over 300 years ago.

Another mysterious member of Lilith’s Posse is Long Tree. Although he is a medical practitioner with dubious credentials, he has saved the life of many an outlaw in his time and serves Lilith well in this capacity. Few have seen the face behind his mask and even fewer have survived to tell the tale. James McClain, while he has been used to operating alone, has come to realise that no man is an island, especially when you can’t decide where your loyalties lie and has therefore thrown his lot in with Lilith. McClain is happy to use his position as Marshal to get him out of some tight spots should he need to.

Some men say that Jim Peterson cannot die. No matter how much lead you pump into him he just gets back up. Money can’t buy that kind of reputation and Jim is more than happy to shovel fuel on that fire. Peterson is lethal with a blade and prefers to get up close and personal in a fight. Yann Packer, known to some as “The Wraith”, due to his talent for simply disappearing if the things get too hot, is a ruthless killer and Hart is happy to unleash him on her enemies. He revels in destruction and enjoys punishing his foes with a hail of shells from his repeating shotgun.

    The Dead or Alive Posse contains 7 multi-part resin miniatures;

    • 1x Lilith Hart
    • 1x Yann "The Wraith" Packer
    • 1x Longtree
    • 1x Thomas Tate Tobin

  • Legendary figures in the Wild West, like Jesse James, will naturally cast a long shadow in which other men will eternally skulk. William McCarty is one such man. Young, headstrong and impetuous, Billy McCarty rarely teams up with Jesse James. When he does, things quickly flare up and the two egos clash. McCarty perceives James as a broken relic who has had his day and who should make way for a faster, younger man such as Billy McCarty. In return, James sees McCarty not as a challenger to his outlaw crown but as little more than an upstart. It was James that first coined the sobriquet 'Kid', which McCarty so despises.

Billy The Kid champions the Enlightened's RJ-1027 technology in its many forms. He makes use of this 'juice' with an array of modern weaponry in his various criminal activities which include, but are in no way limited to, bank and stage robberies, street brawls and on occasion, simply 'settling an argument'.

Demonstrating no sense of guilt or remorse relating to the murders that he commits, Billy The Kid revels in the sheer, bloody joy it brings to his spirit. Billy The Kid is a man quick to anger, quick to revenge and quick to round up like-minded individuals who share his goals.

Billy The Kid is the leader of a like-minded gang known as the Regulators, who tread a curious line between notoriety and legitimacy. This is down to desperate Marshals who can turn to this gang of gunmen for their skill and experience in times of need. It is common to see the Regulators sporting the tin star, whether they are actually currently deputised or not. Regular members of this gang include The Apache Kid, trail finder, trapper and hotshot with his spirit bow. Jose Chavez y Chavez, notorious for his skill with both a machete and pistols in equal measure. Jake Williamson, a huge beast of a man known for butchering his foes with a meat cleaver. John "Boxer" Middleton, the wielder of custom made shock gauntlets and expert pugilist. Laura Anderssen, deadly femme-fatale and deadlier shot with a pistol and finally Sasha Tanner, desperado extraordinaire who can fillet enemies with his bladed gauntlets.

  • It is a long and taxing process for a Spirit Walker to physically transform their body. For those who have a capricious creature such as a hawk or snake for a companion spirit, the process is even more difficult. With their gift of flight, Alcon and his daughters are excellent scouts and a boon to the Warrior Nation.

Shortly after his first Spirit Walk, Alcon would soar above the Union outposts that were scattered through the tribal lands. In his youthful exuberance, he became brash and began to taunt the troops by flying ever closer to them. That particular stunt was his undoing as Bernard Hopkins, a keen-eyed rifleman, clipped his wings and sent him plummeting earthwards into the heart of a Union camp. Alcon was captured and imprisoned, kept in chains so that even after his wound had healed he was unable to take flight. He was beaten, interrogated and treated as a little more than a bird-freak by the Union troops. Eventually, he simply longed for death, not even the possibility of returning to his wife, son and three young daughters was enough to keep hope alive in his heart. His rescue by his friend Cloud Runner after weeks of searching for him, forged a life debt he can never repay.

Though his son walked a different path and fate would rob him of his wife, Alcon raised his daughters in the ways of the Peyasa Spirit Walkers. Now the four of them act as scouts and aerial sentries, often as the vanguard for Cloud Runner.

Ahota is the eldest of the three and is blessed with bountiful energy and an unrelenting drive, giving her the title - The Tireless. She is often the first in the air and the last on the ground. Next is Manama, who is quick to judge those who have wronged the Warrior Nation. She forgives mistakes slowly and forgets them even slower and is known as The Oath Keeper. The youngest daughter is Tiponi and her youth belies the white-hot vengeance in her soul, the anger at the death of her mother and misery heaped on the Warrior Nation. She is The Vengeful.

    The Death from Above Posse kit builds four multi-part resin miniatures;

  • In times of great need, the Warrior Nation perform a binding ritual to merge the power of a spirit animal with its flesh and blood likeness in the world. This is done with reverence and not a small amount of reluctance as, while such binding is a formidable blessing, it carries a terrible price. Unlike the Spirit Walkers, a mortal animal bound in such a manner will often perish once the spirit leaves it.

The spiritual energy channelled through these creatures is incredible and, while the Shaman who employ the rituals are using the ways of the Great Spirit, many feel that doing so is against the rhythms of the earth. But, against the technological abominations of the Dystopian Age, what more powerful an ally can the Warrior Nation have than these massive and ferocious energy beasts?

One such spirit energy beast, the Fire Eagle, is a majestic bird that soars over the land on its enormous wings. Though these Fire Eagles have powerful beaks and claws, their greatest weapon is the gouts of purifying flames they breathe on their foes, capable of melting even the strongest steel.

While the sheer size and ferocity of the Fire Eagle is enough to cause fear in its enemies, the Greater Thunderbird is truly terrifying. Its powerful beak summons an image from prehistory in its savagery, while its wings crackle with galvanic might. The Greater Thunderbird is the harbinger of storms and the living sky. Lethal forks of lightning cascade from its mouth and wings, striking down the foes of the Warrior Nation with deadly accuracy. Few live to tell the tale after witnessing either of these great beasts in action.

Hunting Wolves are extremely fast over open ground and rough terrain alike. • An honourable and gentle soul when at rest, Ghost Wolf is insightful and wise, fond of storytelling and enjoying the company of his extensive family. All too often he is roused to war and his talents are put to a more bloody purpose.

Though a powerful Spirit Walker, Ghost Wolf often remains in his mortal form as the Warrior Nation has a great need for his leadership and tactical mind. The wolf within him calls to his kin and often he is always accompanied by a number of his brother wolves. These hunting wolves have been blessed by the Great Spirit to be larger and stronger than their kin as well as possessing more intelligence. They are as fast as the wind and their powerful jaws are potent allies. When they attack in a pack there is little that can stand against them. The wolf spirit ensures he is often accompanied by those Spirit Walkers of the Weylyn who can embrace the animal spirit and aid their chieftain.

Ghost Wolf can always rely on the support of Hawkeye and Moonswift, two experienced warriors who are carving out their own legend within the Nation. Hawkeye is second to none with a bow, capable of hitting the eye of a running hare. With a kinship that approaches family, Moonswift is almost as fast as her Hunting Wolf brothers and sisters. Adept at channeling spirit energy, Moonswift is able to leap over her enemies and bury an axe in an exposed flank.

  • Irontooth is the youngest of the Warrior Nation's leaders and a man who has grown up within the new society forged by Raven Spirit rather than the old divided tribes that preceded it. From an early age, Irontooth showed great skill and power in the ways of the Great Spirit and he soon took his own path to become a Spirit Priest. This was short lived as only weeks into his training his people were butchered by an interloping Union patrol. Instinct took over and he embraced his Spirit Guide: the Mountain Lion. Irontooth ‘awoke’ to find he was a Spirit Walker and like the lion in his vision, he was soon stalking his enemies, his teeth sinking into flesh and talons ripping his foes open as they fled screaming into the night. While the transformation from man into Spirit Walker is usually achieved only through a long and intense ritual, this change had occurred spontaneously. This gift has even raised an eyebrow from Raven Spirit when he heard tell of it.

Irontooth's path has been chosen for him and a life of dedication to the Great Spirit was now to take a very different route. He is a Spirit Walker, a warrior of formidable strength and skill and Irontooth is often found leading warrior bands through the mountain paths to strike at their enemies.

To his wife, Silver Spear, Irontooth confesses he would rather that this path had not been chosen for him and that he could live out his days with her in peace. He knows the Great Spirit hears him and he also knows that the Great Spirit can see his heart and can see that despite these private thoughts Irontooth will continue to fight the enemies of the Warrior Nation even with his last breath should it come to that.

  • A solitary soul, Raging Bear stands apart from the other Spirit Walkers. While others return to their human form once the bloody day is done, Raging Bear does not. Some unspeakable shame in his past makes returning to his life as a man unthinkable. Even the all-knowing Raven Spirit will not address the reasons for this isolation directly, only that the burden of his deeds as a beast cannot be borne in the soul of a man. And so it is that, when needed, Raging Bear can be found far from the settlements of the Warrior Nation. The call of the Great Spirit draws him back to his people when needed the most. In battle, he leads other Spirit Walkers and bloodthirsty warriors by example; red in tooth and claw.

  • Every generation has its heroes and those who bear notoriety through the ages. Of those whose acts of heroism and selflessness are beyond compare, there are fewer. The people of the Warrior Nation know that in the lives to follow their own, the name of Chief Raven Spirit will forever be cited as an example of the latter.

It was said that the war between the Union and the Crown was in its infancy when the small, slightly-built, boy first communed with the spirits and took on the name Kangee. The name meant "Raven" in the tongue of his people though the portent of this choice went unremarked, especially as many others that season were also favoured by that particular bird. While the War of Independence burned itself across the land, the boy prospered under the guide of his spirit, demonstrating a boldness in battle unequalled by the other young people of his age. And that was unusual, for prior to his communing with Raven, Kangee had been a peaceable child. This new-found fearless aggression saw him chosen to lead warriors in the defence of the People's lands whenever the Union or Crown ventured too close. The Youngblood took to the role with great panache and a frenetic vigour, calling forth with great ease lethal spirit claws with which to rend his foes asunder. Over time, the name Kangee was forgotten and those who knew him called him simply 'Raven Spirit'.

It was not until the last winter before the Union drove out the Crown from the Americas that the true scope of his bond with the spirits was revealed. His braves had been slaughtered in an ambush by Continental Marines. Wounded, barely able to raise his weapon, Raven Spirit - by now a Warrior Nation chief - raised his head to the sky and let out the keening cry that was the raven's own. When the spirit of an ancient warrior, many centuries dead, coalesced in shimmering blue spirit fire around the young chief - this was startling enough. When that Summoning also unleashed a plume of all-consuming spiritual fire that obliterated the terrified attackers, Raven Spirit fell into a deep trance.

Marked by intense visions of the Great Spirit, Raven Spirit emerged from his meditation with the dawn and brought with him a new vision for his people. Abandoning the ways of divided tribes and embracing a more ancient path to reunite with the native tribes of humanity across the globe. It was as part of the Warrior Nation that they would save its people from the growing darkness and also extend protection to all the peoples of the Earth.

Despite doubts and many dangers, Raven Spirit has built alliances towards some Grand Paradigm that only he can truly comprehend. Now nearly a hundred summers old, Raven Spirit leads his people with a benevolent hand, adhering to the guiding light of the Great Spirit infusing him with a vitality that would not seem possible.

Despite this limitation, the Warrior Nation make use of Gatling guns, heavy crossbows and other tribal weapons to destroy their foes, making up for a lack of such alien advantages with sheer heroism and faith in their traditions. Those who follow the Brotherhood of Kaga have resigned themselves to the fact that they will likely die in battle. Their use of support weapons and close proximity to the most deadly of conflicts makes this a certainty. • "The Great Spirit has given our enemies to us. We are to destroy them. We know of what they are."

These words are attributed to one of the greatest heroes of the Warrior Nation and perhaps suggest a more aggressive approach to the world than he truly represents. In his life, Ghost Wolf has been known by many names, in the manner of his people, but the sobriquet by which he now goes most accurately describes him. His quiet, acts of selfless bravery down the years have earned him a reputation as a man who cares more for the needs of others than he does for those of his own. He is deeply loved and admired by those who are close to him, idolised by those who are near and treated with a respectful caution by any further afield.

A placid and gentle soul in peacetime, Ghost Wolf is insightful and wise, fond of storytelling and enjoying the company of his extensive family. But when he is roused to anger – and it is not easy to bring him to such a state – the beast within is unleashed. When Ghost Wolf calls upon the Great Spirit’s strength and makes the connection with his spirit guide, the wolf can no longer be contained, ripping and tearing its way to the fore. Ghost Wolf’s prowess in times of war is nothing short of mythological. When he transforms, he metamorphoses into something beyond terrifying. The bestial form, wreathed in blue spirit fire is a sight that reduces his enemies to quivering heaps of jelly and which galvanises his own people to acts of greatness. He has led the Warrior Nation in skirmishes against the settlers whose intrusion into their native lands has resulted in so much destruction. Always, the goal is the same. To protect the very ground and air which they all share.

His anger and sorrow at being unable to aid his daughter, Walks Looking, as she fights her own private battles is a personal tragedy for him, but he will not turn his back on her. Their relationship is a complex one, more formal than perhaps it once was.

  • Even if she had not been born blind, it wasn't an easy childhood for Walks Looking as the only daughter of the great hero of the Warrior Nation. Ghost Wolf's legend loomed over her but what others perceived as her disability meant that she was not sought for a wife or status symbol by the men of the tribes. Ghost Wolf might have been a hero to his people but he was a distant father for Walks Looking. Her brothers all died at the hands of the Union or Confederates during their Civil War and she grew to adulthood with only the counsel of the elder Irontooth for guidance. Frustrated with her blindness and freed from any expectations or demands, Walks Looking embodied her name as she was often found wandering the camps and plains honing her spiritual sight. Try as she might she did not display the gift to a degree that she could join the other Braves into battle and bring them glory rather than be a burden.

Dejected, Walks Looking searched for the chance to make her own mark. In meditation, she sought her animal spirit in the hope that she might be able to join the Spirit Walkers and display the traits of the wolf like her father or perhaps a mighty hawk like Alcon. Through that meditation, she received her answer from what she thought was the Great Spirit itself and she returned to her people with an insight and ability that disturbed and disquieted the elders as much as her newfound abilities were hailed as a miracle of the Great Spirit.

Invigorated, Walks Looking threw herself into the protection of her people in imitation of her father. Her heroism in those years is without question, but in the process Walks Looking began to have strange thoughts and experience periods of forgetfulness and gaps in her memory that left much unexplained - including moments when she awoke drenched in blood with the taste fresh on her lips. Fearing for her sanity, the final straw came when she inadvertently led many Youngbloods to their deaths. Anguished she took her own life as the shame too much to bear. But she did not die, instead, she rose up twisted and terrible - a tainted mockery of her former self, invigorated by the dark powers of the Hex.

For several years she lived as a tainted creature called Wicasasni, corrupting the young and strong of the tribes and creating a Dark Nation of followers. Ghost Wolf blamed himself for his daughter's corruption and when the opportunity came he led a daring raid to the creature's lair. Capturing her, Ghost Wolf took the screaming monstrosity to the sacred shrine that had been prepared by Raven Spirit for just this purpose. Searing her soul with the energies of the Great Spirit, the nightmarish wraith was torn from Walks Looking's body and banished from the shrine. As it was sent howling into the night, it took with it half of Walks Looking's soul.

Purified and restored to her people, Walks Looking is a powerful leader of the Warrior Nation. Though not fully trusted and resented by those who have lost loved ones to her tainted past, Walks Looking has led the Warrior Nation to many victories. Having lost none of her prodigious power but now unable to feel love or other strong emotions Walks Looking has a personal quest to find the demon Wicasasni. A quest to reclaim the lost half of her soul and free those who have fallen to Wicasasni’s corrupting influence.
