The year is 1795 and the Rent continues to cast its baleful gaze down onto La Serenissima, projecting a permanent eerie glow onto the city. Some harness the power of the Rent for their own goals, whilst the few work towards improving the lives of their fellow citizens. Venice is now a burning crucible of aquatic monsters, vampiric beasts, mad doctors, spoiled nobles, sinful priests and average citizens just trying to survive another day.

This is the new small Rulebook for Carnevale miniatures game and contains the most up-to-date ruleset for our period tabletop wargame. Between its 48 pages lies all of the rules and core gameplay mechanics you'll need to start playing Carnevale. The Vatican has unveiled a relic from a bygone age: a stone from the ancient Garden of Gethsemane. Harnessing the anguish of the Vatican, as well as the tears of countless pilgrims who visited the garden before the rent, they use rent magic and other sorceries to fuse wrathful spirits with huge pieces of debris, pillars, and other discarded stone to form the aptly named Gethsemane a, colossus that onlookers believe embodies the wrath of the Vatican. Shaped like a cat, it uses massive stone claws and crushing jaws to eviscerate and bludgeon anything in its path. If that fails, Gethsemane can rely on its sheer size to crush foes into paste, the very ground quaking beneath it as it lands. It is said to gain strength from the suffering and agony of the populace of Venice, making it almost impervious to any kind of physical or magical damage.

This box contains the legendary colossus, Gethsemane! The largest construct to ever be unleashed into Venice, even the followers of the 'true' faith give this beast a wide berth when it's unleashed onto the battlefield. Surprisingly catlike in nature, Gethsemane serpentines in combat before pouncing onto its prey before clawing it apart with extreme anguish.

Italy was sunk and Europe wracked by gargantuan tidal waves; mysteriously, only one place was spared: Venice. There are others that would use the magic of the Rent for their own hedonistic perversions. The nobility of Venice, bored of their mundane existence, seek ever greater pleasures. This often leads to Masquerata - a truly horrific scene of mindless murder that lasts until the bloodletting has grown dull. Their next target seems to be the World's Faire itself, but the Doctors are prepared...

This box contains everything that two players will need to dip their toes into the fetid canals of Carnevale. In Carnevale, you can defeat your enemies by shoving them from rooftops, drowning them in the canals or engaging them in a duel, along with a plethora of other fashions, as this game offers fully three-dimensional gameplay in a narrative skirmish game.

Mother Hydra has unleashed her largest servant to date into Venice! The Emissary is a huge squid-like being, whose size is only beaten by that of the mythical Morgraur itself. Its tentacles are extremely vast, able to easily strike at foes on the streets and drag them into the depths. Some tentacles even have horrific, toothed maws on the end to bite at foes further away. Others are spiked or barbed to be used to lash across the canals. Its strength is such that it can pull an isolated house off its foundations, collapsing it into the canals if it so wishes. Her Emissary is the instrument of Mother Hydra's will, though no-one knows what exactly that is...

Only the Rashaar truly know what horrors lie beneath the depths of the Adriatic sea. Having been summoned to Floating City to enact the will of Mother Hydra, this huge aquatic creature now calls the canals of Venice home. Taking a stroll along the water's edge has always been a risky endeavour, made even more dangerous by the huge flailing tentacles now dragging citizens into the crushing depths.

The blood magic that the Harlots extracted from Baba-Yaga has proved immensely successful, creating potions and even powerful curses that they sell to citizens, whether they can afford it or not. To those who cannot afford to pay their debts, they become enthralled by the very harlots who sold them the curses.

Forced to kill to pay off their debts, these acts of bloodletting are welcome to the Blood Matrons, who gain a reliable source of blood. The harlots have found even more uses for the blood magic, such as replenishing life energies as well as aiding their physical prowess, which in turn makes them faster than a normal human.

This box is led by a Bloodletter, using blood magics and with the ability to replenish life points. A Death Duelist moves faster than a normal person, able to engage the champion of the enemy in a whirlwind of blades, normally ending with their defeat.

Two Indebted have been cursed to take lives to pay off their debts to the harlots. An Escort adds some muscle to round off the box.

The Vatican have been able to create their own miracles! Harnessing the power of the rent and channeling it into Altar Boys through a sacred ritual, the Vatican priests show the power of their faith. To them, this is a clear sign from God that their cause is just and right, for if not how can they summon Angels down from Heaven? These ‘Angels’ are grotesque, morbid abominations that in a sick irony, represent what the Vatican has become to the outside world.

This box is led by a Throne whose soul is trapped in a prison of interlocking rings, eyes protruding outwards in every direction, infernal fire barely held in check within and angelic wings sprouting from the centre.

Two Cherubim are Altar Boys going through the excruciating transformation, inflicting unbearable pain as each limb transforms one by one. Finally, a Divine Seraphim represents the finished ‘miracle’ once the grotesque transformation is complete.
