From this exalted vantage point she can lead the War Chant and direct her spells at the right targets, both enhancing and feeding off the musical effect the frenzied drummers and horn blowers can evoke upon their troops. How they Play: Capitalizing on the Drum Beast's ability to affect W'adrhun Battlecries, the Scion is able to enhance the battlecry nature of their Spellcasting abilities and find a medium through which to empower and amplify them.

Tontorrs are amongst the largest beasts that the W’adrhun have managed to tame. Normally used as beasts of burden and to aid construction, when a tribe ceases raiding and mobilizes for war, the Tontorrs are often in the vanguard. of a Tontorr make it a terrifying foe on the battlefield despite their docile nature. It speaks volumes to the skill and determination of the W’adrhun Speakers that these docile beasts can be such terrifying foes, the sheer size and bulk of these beasts meaning they do not so much fight as simply walk over their foes. How they Play: A colossal beast capable of smashing through even the most disciplined of troops, inflicting untold damage by simply trampling over anyone who is foolish to stand before it. The Tontorr gives a simple choice to any opponents, move or be moved.

Born of the ancient hunting lodges of the Nords, the Bearsarks have long been a terror on and off the battlefield. Their insular nature, occult practices and unbridled ferocity have made them dangerous to both ally and foe as most Bearsark lodges make ends meet as brigands and raiders among the Nord lands when not directly employed by an enterprising Jarl or Shaman. On the battlefield, their unbridled ferocity, disregard for danger and brutal strength make them ideal frontline combatants, where their vicious two handed weapons make a mockery of whatever defensive formations the foe might hide behind. How they Play: An elite Heavy Regiment, blindly charging and unleashing devastating high quality Cleave (2) Attacks with Linebreaker, they are bound to make short work of all but the toughest opponents off Objectives and other areas of importance on the Battlefield.

Any Nord leader worth his salt keeps a retinue of Huskarls close at hand to enforce his will on rebellious vassals and fight off raids. The leader of the Huskarls is often a Thegn, a wealthy warrior who has managed to earn his lord’s implicit trust while maintaining good relations with the landed Huskarls. Unlike the Chosen, who serve as bodyguards and wartime companions, a Thegn stands by his lord at all times: ensuring the shield line holds on the battlefield and that taxes and oaths of fealty are administered off it. How they Play: Expert in fighting in a Shield Wall through countless battles, the Thegn coordinates their Regiment to fight into a cohesive and disciplined defensive formation.

Few who look upon the Ulfhednar on the field of battle realize that these raging barbarians are in fact a warrior lodge whose origins predate the veneration of the Aesir and the Vanir. Descending upon their foe clad in their ceremonial furs and armed with twin blades, these ritual warriors are a menace to all who would stand in their path, their frenzied state inuring them to fear or pain. Fast, savage and deadly, the Ulfhednar close with their opponents with terrifying speed, their twin blades whistling as they carve a path of savage mayhem through the enemies vulnerable flank and read. How they Play: An elite Medium Regiment, blindly charging and unleashing a true whirlwind of Attacks overcoming even the most determined opponents. Extremely lethal in close combat although vulnerable to missile fire.

While female Speakers display an admirable affinity to the carnivorous Raptors that dwell within their primal lands, they are not the only cavalry the W’adrhun can bring to bear. Riding juvenile Brontoceratops (the elder beasts being too stubborn and docile to be goaded to battle) the Thunder Riders descend on the enemy formations in an unstoppable avalanche of muscle, crest and violence. The sheer power and impact these mounts can bring to bear as they stampede and trample enemy lines has earned these young riders a terrifying reputation that belies their years. How they Play: The W'adrhun version of Heavy Shock Cavalry, the Thunder Riders focus more on a debilitating Charge rather than sustained combat, even though their defensive stats would naturally protect them. Although their Movement stats are more in line with Brutes, this Cavalry Regiment will give any defensive formation a real run for its points.

The Buccephaloi of the Old Dominions were the sacred guardians of it’s holiest sites. Clad in beautiful ceremonial panoplies, these simple and devout guardians were selected from amongst the most powerful of Minotaur Thyreans, their horns ritually cut off in an act of devotion and subservience to Hazlia. Such was the power and majesty of the Buccephaloi that only in death were they called to battle: while alive none dared oppose them. How they Play: Temple Guardians of Old, the Buccephaloi return to play the role of the unstoppable juggernaut, providing some much needed offensive power to the Old Dominion forces. Even from the early stages of the game a combination of Cleave (3) and Brutal Impact (1), more as Dark Power Pool goes up in Tiers, will provide a much needed counter offensive during the stages of the game where Enemy Heavy Regiments are adding up pressure.

While it has been established that male W’adrhŭn struggle to form stable bonds with carnivorous dinosaurs, this poses no impediment to those who would seek to bond and ride a Ceratopsian dinosaur. Mounted atop this formidable beast, the Chieftain becomes a bastion of prowess and rallying point upon the battlefield, the ungainly and brutal nature of his mount’s attacks is more than offset by the sheer combat prowess displayed by the greatest warrior in the tribe. How they Play: With the Thunder Riders being the staple Regiment of the Chieftain, the Character loses no time to mount one of these powerful beasts themselves and join the fray! Similar to the devastating abilities of a Thunder Rider the item, similar to Brood of Omgorah, allows the Chieftain to ride along his Thunder Riders in style!

In a society as militarized as that of the Dweghom, a need arises to distinguish those who are proficient in the art of war, thus capable of calling themselves warriors, from those who are truly gifted. The Thanes are the latter. Individually recognized by their Raegh for valor and prowess on the field of battle, each Thane is armed and equipped with the best weaponry a Hold’s forges can produce. Unlike the undoubtedly fine weapon of the warriors, each of the arms and armor that the Thanes bear has been personally crafted by a member of the Tempered marking them to stand amongst the Hold’s elite forces. Capable of weathering the heaviest blows and cutting through the finest chain, these weapons make the Thanes deadly opponents, equally proficient on the attack as in defense.

While their equipment may vary from household to household, the oldest Noble Houses have employed the same arms and equipment for centuries. The halberd has been the traditional ceremonial weapon of all guards in the Hundred Kingdoms for centuries, and the household guard are no exception. These veterans however, have mastered the weapon to a degree that the massed troop levies that commonly wield them could not hope to match. Often the youngest sons of the landed nobles or wealthy burghers, their arms and epuipment are a cut above what one would expect. Massing almost half a ton and porting massive fangs and wicked claws, the most terrifying trait of the Fenr Beastpack is its cunning intellect. Lacking the refined education of their Spire betters, veteran High Clones possess only those skills they have earned on the battlefield. Tactically knowledgeable as infantry men and strategically acute as infiltrators and Pteraphon riders, High Clones excel at what they do but not always at the society they live in. A fraction of them have managed to adapt and employ their training in politics, rising above their intended station. Most often than not, they are given a modest stipend and employed as ceremonial guards, (since the real bodyguard roles for the truly exalted amongst their society are reserved for those creatures whose loyalty and combat capacity are compelled by Biomantic means). Those who are not content with these limited roles must vie to be recognized as Executors, officers in one of the Sovereign Lineages’ armies. In order to advance through the ranks, Executors must have proven and keep proving their ability time and again, both on the field of battle and without. They must secure chances at proving their capacity, provide victory on the battlefield and be able to claim credit for that victory, always vying against backstabbing colleagues, jealous superiors and ruthlessly demanding masters. The result is that should one encounter a High Clone Executor leading an enemy force, he should know he is facing a ruthlessly competent individual who has no compunctions or limitations on the pursuit of victory.

Some Dweghom manifest so much of their Elemental Gift, they must master it or be consumed by it. Few Have the skill, will or dedication needed to become Sorcerers. In fact, most Dweghom elect to install techno sorcerous grafts that allow them to harmlessly vent their excess power. Steelforged pilots are recruited from amongst these individuals who possess a Gift for both Elements: their excess Primordial Fire and Earth channeled through their grafts and into these towering steel automata. Countless foes have been cut down expecting a lumbering clankingbehemoth, only to be confounded by the speed and power of these deadly automata. How they Play: The Steelforged are the Dweghom’s answer to the age old question of “quantity or quality of Attacks?”.
