Shaltari Battlecruisers are fast, ultra-advanced ship killers. Many classes have been known for centuries, including the dreaded Ruby, Sapphire, and Hematite. Lately, a variant hull design has been encountered in increasing numbers. All the known classes have been observed using the superstructure, but many new threats are appearing.

With the aliens now heavily committed in multiple theatres, especially their conquest of Aaru, variants which deploy vast engines of war to the surface are appearing. Ground-based teleport gates, weaponized emplacements, and even walking city-crushers have been seen. These can be deployed by lighter ships classified as Supercruisers, but also by enlarged Battlecruisers now designated as Pocket Battleships, as are the UCM's latest designs. 

These ships provide faster, lighter flagships, spear tip assault vessels, and invasion support. Indeed, ships of this tonnage are now among the aliens' most diverse and lethal tools.
