The latest of Vlad’s experiments, the Monstrous Stryx is a Strzyga that has forcefully been fed a variety of meat by Vlad; the results of which have been truly horrifying. Far, far larger than anything previously seen from the Strigoi, the Stryx can tear through shop fronts with its bulk, rip a horse to shreds with its claws and bite a man in two with a single bone crunching snap of its jaws.
The Stryx has no eyes to speak of, which gives its face a rather morbid look. It does however use a form of echolocation whilst gliding in the skies to find their prey, sharply descending to attack once it’s honed in on food. This echolocation does give out a screeching sound which terrifies nearby citizens near enough to hear the piercing shriek.Vlad revels in telling his followers that he has found a way to ascend his forces into higher, more powerful entities. If this is true or not, none can say. What is sure however, is this latest experiment has produced the most powerful servant for Vlad yet. 

The Strigoi saw the Morgraur and have answered in kind. The Monstrous Stryx strikes from above and delivers slashing blow after blow, tearing through flesh and steel. If you don't see the Stryx you will certainly hear it as its Baleful Screech ruptures your eardrums.

Like all vampires the Stryx has regenerative capability second to none, so no matter who you send they will not fell this mighty beast.

The crusade against unbelievers has taken its toll on the Vatican forces, none more so than those that martyr themselves. Tomoe was a princess, more beautiful than any other, but one day she was caught wrestling, something definitely not accepted in the princess handbook.

Tomoe did not care, it was her dream to wrestle, she kept disobeying the rules and snuck out every night to the local ring. When she was discovered once more she was cursed to be a Gorgon until her wrestling days were done. Turns out however the addition of claws, fangs and a strong conviction (or constriction) is a massive benefit in the ring.

Like a coiled viper, Tomoe is ready to strike with her grappling skill. Her ultimate grapple move, the Taipan Tapper, will deal huge amounts of Damage and Knockdown your opponents. Cousin to the Ito daimyo, Yudai speaks as the daimyo’s voice in matters at court. He has served as emissary to Takuya’s wishes since the start of the Dragon Wars, and no one can deny that Yudai knows his way around the deadly game of clan politics. Because of the Ito clan’s well-deserved reputation for treachery, those around Yudai still call upon him for favours. Itsunagi has courted Yudai’s good graces, swaying his uncle to the service of Orochi. Even so, Yudai serves Orochi most cynically, drawing upon Orochi’s power only when it serves him to do so.

Whale hunting is a significant source of meat, blubber, oil, and bone, which is used in all kinds of products across the Jwar Isles and even exported to the mainland. All of these hunters are competent sailors. Outside of hunting season, or when no whaling is permitted north of Jwar, they may take work on other ships.

Up in the Ro-Kan Mountains, there is rarely a need for an organised militia as most villages are protected from bandits and outsiders by the monks of the Temple. This works well enough that most organised groups know not to target villages up in the mountains. Still, the villages need protection, and most have a group of their people to watch the village at night, stop any excessive conflict between families and keep back wild animals. They solve most of their problems by bringing shouting villagers and fire to scare off the upland bears and mountain gorillas. They lack real training, and unfortunately, layers of straw armour may protect them from snake bites and even simple knives and sticks, but they are no match for a katana.
