Although not yet in widespread circulation, Abyssinian scientists have created relatively small scale rail guns usable on the battlefield. These weapons require an incredibly strong source of power, and as such, must be deployed with a Soulstone-amplified power source.

On the tabletop, the Rail Gunner gets one powerful, long range shot per Turn. Target priority is the key to getting the most out of this dangerous unit.

As the aetheric energies of the Burning Man pour into the fragile bodies of mortals, come are remade into monstrous aberrations. Unable to internalize the magic inside them, it spills outward, warping their bodies until they are as much magic as flesh. These Twisted Horrors have mutable forms that can withstand immense punishment, and their flesh has contorted to form living weapons. In moments of peril, their bodies can even unleash bursts of unstable but deadly magic.

On the tabletop, Twisted Horrors are strong frontline forces. They are a significant threat in melee combat, not just for the damage they can put out. but also because of their incredible endurance and ability to generate their own Reinforcement Tokens.

Speckled Crawlers, like most Crawlers, occupy the lowest level of the Hordes' food pyramid. They are the most plentiful species, partially because of their incredible ability ability to adapt to their environment. Upon arriving on Earth, the Crawlers took to the land, carving out small lairs for themselves in tunnels, under bridges, and in just about every other dark and unseen place they encountered.

On the tabletop, Speckled Crawlers form into large, five-monster Fireteams. This makes them quite a tarpit and their resilience is further boosted when they enter Glory and begin gaining automatic Reinforcement Tokens. Their basic melee attack is somewhat weak, but it becomes stronger if the Crawlers can find some terrain to hunker down in.

At the bottom of the Gibbering Hordes food chain lie the Crawlers. The second most common species (if they can be called a distinct species, given their penchant for mutation) are the Barbed Crawlers. In Malifaux's oceans, these creatures swam in the shallows, launching toxic barbs from their bodies to kill their prey. Now they roam the lands and seas of Earth, looking for food and new lairs to lay their eggs.

On the table, Barbed Crawlers are one of the Gibbering Hordes’ only ranged units. Barbed Crawlers serve as a cheap source of ranged attacks and, when needed, cannon fodder. Their barbs aren't very dangerous, but the automatic application of Pinned Tokens can assist in whittling down enemy forces. When in Glory, their barbs gain a number of very useful Triggers that allow them to fill multiple battlefield roles.

The Gibbering Hordes are denizens of old Malifaux, before the fall of the Tyrants. In the resulting war, they chose the wrong side and were cast into the ocean. Over the centuries, their forms twisted to accommodate their new lives, and as the years passed they began to forget... but numerous portals opening in the ocean dumped the Hordes onto Earth, shocking the creatures into a hunger-filled frenzy.

The Gibbering Hordes are amphibious creatures that dwell in many of Malifaux's waterways and oceans. Much of their intelligence has been forgotten in favour of sharp animal instinct and a desire to survive. Led by their more aware kin, the Hordes have decided to make the Earth their new home. A Gibbering Hordes army is focused on melee, using their seemingly infinite numbers to conquer their enemies.

An elite cavalry force, the Empire Dragoons have managed to integrate modern technology with cavalry tactics to devastating effect. While the Dragoons are a limited force, this is only because their striking power is in high demand. Dragoons are largely independent, with every member having been drawn from low-ranking officer pools. This autonomy on the battlefield frees up the rest of the forces to do what they have been ordered while still ensuring the Dragoons can go wherever they are needed at a moments notice.

On the tabletop, Empire Dragoons are an incredibly fast melee unit. This makes them a great addition to any ranged company, as it allows them to intercept hostile forces before they can engage the Empire's gunlines.

The King's Empire stretches across the British Isles and includes strong presences in foreign territories such as India. Though it was originally the home of the Guild, the Empire has since freed itself from the yoke of oppression and now seeks to stand on its own. With the deluge over London and the onslaught of the Gibbering Hordes, the King's Empire has mobilized its forces and now heads to war.

The King's Empire utilizes its global presence and strength of arms to help shape the fate of Earth. Using well-trained troops and advanced firearms, the King's Empire will give no ground. An Empire army specializes in long-range firepower and cunning tactics to defeat those who oppose them.

The battlefields of the 1900s have changed drastically from even a few decades prior. The King's Empire has adapted to the changing nature of war by creating the Grenadiers; soldiers who are trained in the use of grenade launchers. Fitted with the ability to use multiple types of ammo, these grenade launchers allow the Grenadiers to hunt the biggest threats of the battlefield: blocks of infantry soldiers and the massive Titans.

On the tabletop, the Grenadiers rely upon their grenade launchers to deal heavy damage to infantry units and Titans alike. They are a straightforward unit that attract a great deal of attention on the battlefield, if only due to the sheer amount of damage they are capable of unleashing.

The Lord of Steel is a title given to Abyssinia's greatest warrior. The title currently resides with Yokowo Yemo, a skilled fighter and brilliant tactician. Yokowo joined the armed services at the age of sixteen and has been rising through the ranks ever since.

The Lord of Steel is a fast, melee-based Commander. Unlike many Commanders, the Lord of Steel prefers to lead from the front and makes great use of his mobility and Stratagems to ensure victory.

There are many paths to walk when following the Burning Man, but none are as revered as the Warped. Though their bodies have been infused with magic, they have found themselves capable of controlling that power. The most impressive use of this power is the Warped's ability to open minor portals that allow them to quickly move from one

location to the next.

On the tabletop, the Warped are a solid melee unit that combines durability and offensive power with incredible mobility. Their ability to teleport directly into close combat with other Fireteams can be used both offensively and defensively, making them a versatile unit that forms the backbone of many Cult Companies.

The various Skulker species of the Gibbering Hordes embody stealth. Their skin pigmentation constantly changes to match their surroundings, making them very difficult to see until it is too late. They try to stick to dark places, slinking from shadow to shadow as they creep up on their unsuspecting prey. Worse yet, their incredibly sharp teeth contain potent venom, making them effective against even larger prey.

On the tabletop, Striped Skulkers are forward scouts and assassins that are more self-reliant than other Hordes forces. Unlike other units, it can sometimes be a good idea to let Striped Skulkers perish when attacked, as they can use the Endless Numbers Ability of the Gibbering Hordes Allegiance to come back almost anywhere in play.
