The two rival spymasters know the secret identities of 25 agents. Their teammates know the agents only by their CODENAMES.

The teams compete to see who can make contact with all of their agents first. Spymasters give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. their teammates try to guess words of the right color whild avoiding those that belong to the opposing team. And everyone wants to avoid the assassin.

Codenames Duet keeps the basic elements of Codenames -- give one-word clues to try to get someone to identify your agents among those on the table -- but now you're working together as a team to find all of your agents. Players work together to reveal all fifteen agents -- without revealing an assassin -- before time runs out in order to win the game.

Either player can decide to give the first one-word clue to the other player, along with a number. Whoever receives the clue places a finger on a card to identify that agent. If correct, they can attempt to identify another one. If they identify a bystander, then their guessing time ends. If they identify an assassin, you both lose! Unlike regular Codenames, they can keep guessing as long as they keep identifying an agent each time; this is useful for going back to previous clues and finding ones they missed earlier. After the first clue is given, players alternate giving clues.

What are these strange symbols on the map They are code for locations where spies must contact secret agents! Codenames Pictures is the top- secret picture game where two rival spymasters know the agent in each location. They deliver coded messages telling their field operatives where to go for clandestine meetings. Operatives must be clever. A decoding mistake could lead to an unpleasant encounter with an enemy agent - or worse, with the assassin. Both teams race to contact all their agents, but only one team can win.

Players lead rival expeditions to a newly discovered island. Through a unique combination of worker placement and deckbuilding, each expedition attempts to uncover the lost island’s secrets.

In addition to traditional deckbuilder effects, cards can also be used to place workers. Decks are small, and randomness is heavily mitigated by the wealth of tactical decisions offered on the game board. Building a solid resource base will be essential.

With a variety of worker actions, artifacts, and equipment cards, the setup for each game will be unique, encouraging players to explore new strategies to meet the challenge.
