A Stormbringer was once an ordinary legionnaire. Their power grows with age, experience, and success in battle – and the energy within each Riftforged orc is a raging torrent, always threatening to overwhelm the weak. The Kings of War (2022) Veteran Bundle contains everything you need to get you up to speed with the latest changes

Inlcuding the new Kings of War Rulebook (the big red one) includes rules from the Third Edition Rulebook, Uncharted Empires and the changes introduced in Clash of Kings 2022. It also includes all the updates and erratas for those books and combines them into one tome.

Those lucky, or unlucky, enough to survive an encounter with a Plague Lord, may become one of the Stage 2 infected known as a Burster. Once they are within range of a viable host, these bloated beings release streams of contagious organic matter, infecting an apparently unlimited number of victims. Even at a distance Bursters pose a threat – enemy fire has often been reported to cause Stage 2b’s to explode, sending out great showers of contagious gore and infecting any organism unfortunate enough to be in proximity.

Known by a variety of names, depending on the nature of local fauna, flocks of infected flying creatures are frequently reported as attacking the uninfected. Larger Murderbirds, believed to be 2nd generation creatures, grow larger and become aggressive pack hunters, while 3rd generation flocks may number hundreds of smaller creatures and act as ‘screens’ for other Plague forms. The co-ordination in these attacks suggests a directing intelligence, the existence of a controller or ‘master’. Whether this master is a 1st Generation Plague Lord or some other, as yet unidentified variant is as yet unconfirmed.

The monoliths are ancient standing stones, expertly tapered and decorated with secret meaning and scattered throughout the desert lands of the south. The elven scholars have tried to study them from afar and believe they form some kind of arcane power grid, although their purpose and how they work remains unfathomable. In battle, the hieroglyphs on the sandblasted stones glow with an inner fire, fuelling the spells of the empire’s mages.

Better trained and equipped than other warriors, the Royal Guard fulfil more specialised roles within the Ahmunite legions. While many may fight on foot as armoured infantry, some fight from horseback or atop gilded chariots, acting as heavy cavalry for the armies of the pharaohs.

Once used in both ceremonial roles and in times of conflict, these heavy chariots now only see service in the ranks of the empire’s army, thundering towards the enemy and bearing the revenants to war.

At its height, the Ahmunite Empire possessed thousands of well-trained soldiers. As the use of necromancy spread, ranks of raised corpses replaced these legions. These armies are equipped in death much as they were in life. Infantry regiments carry tall shields and fight with either spears or a variety of ancient hand weapons. Ranged troops are generally equipped with bows and while their role remains unchanged today, their demise and decay has cost them much of their ability.

According to corporate records, in the year 850AE, greedy orc warlords, hungry for power and envious of the success of humankind, rebelled against their GCPS officers and went on an interplanetary rampage. Marauder troops had been a part of the corporate military for a very long time and then, at some point, they decided they wanted more. Millions were slaughtered by the merciless orc horde and entire star systems occupied or laid to waste by the green tide.

Recently classified by ECTU scientists, the 2A ‘Sentient’ is a seemingly more intelligent strain of the ‘Leaper’. Typically it is seen barking and screeching commands from the rear, while packs of Leapers charge toward their target.
