The world of Cyberpunk Red is set in the year 2045, during the reconstruction of Night City. In Cyberpunk Red: Combat Zone, you lead a gang through pitched battles or campaigns. Equip your gang, hire your mercs, and build your street cred to dominate the hellish rubble of the Combat Zone and emerge as the new master of the streets.

Cyberpunk Red: Combat Zone is a tabletop miniatures skirmish game, featuring Monster Fight Club's [RE]ACtion system, where every character has a set of skills, abilities, and actions they can use in the game. Actions come in three colors, which match three types of dice (d6, d8, or d12. Which color action a character takes determines what dice they roll.

Gameplay quickly moves back and forth between players. When a character is wounded, their actions get worse - but they also can have a chance to react to the attack by moving away or counterattacking. The character with control of the battle is the one who is currently taking actions with one of their characters. You lose control when your active character runs out of Actions. Characters can try to activate other friendly characters. This creates fast-paced back and forth gameplay, where control of the game passes back and forth, without getting bogged down in phases, upkeep, and accounting.

Leading this band of monstrous constructs is Father Cesta himself, the first of the summoning priests can descend the Heavenly Host on the wicked of Venice, hitting all in its path. He will invigorate all constructs near him, making them fight with all their might and allow them to pass through objects as if they were not there. Flowing in behind Cesta is a the Galilean Priest, this mage can pass over water as if walking on land as well as manipulating it to his very will. 

These Invokers do not come alone, rising from the canals is the mighty Thalassic Messenger, this grotesque sludge is durable beyond belief, shrugging off the strongest of blows, then it can drown you with ease and without warning. Lastly is the Celestial Congregation, these spirits can pass through solid walls and obstacles to protect the Invoker that binds them to the world of the living.

Born of the ancient hunting lodges of the Nords, the Bearsarks have long been a terror on and off the battlefield. Their insular nature, occult practices and unbridled ferocity have made them dangerous to both ally and foe as most Bearsark lodges make ends meet as brigands and raiders among the Nord lands when not directly employed by an enterprising Jarl or Shaman. On the battlefield, their unbridled ferocity, disregard for danger and brutal strength make them ideal frontline combatants, where their vicious two handed weapons make a mockery of whatever defensive formations the foe might hide behind. How they Play: An elite Heavy Regiment, blindly charging and unleashing devastating high quality Cleave (2) Attacks with Linebreaker, they are bound to make short work of all but the toughest opponents off Objectives and other areas of importance on the Battlefield.

Any Nord leader worth his salt keeps a retinue of Huskarls close at hand to enforce his will on rebellious vassals and fight off raids. The leader of the Huskarls is often a Thegn, a wealthy warrior who has managed to earn his lord’s implicit trust while maintaining good relations with the landed Huskarls. Unlike the Chosen, who serve as bodyguards and wartime companions, a Thegn stands by his lord at all times: ensuring the shield line holds on the battlefield and that taxes and oaths of fealty are administered off it. How they Play: Expert in fighting in a Shield Wall through countless battles, the Thegn coordinates their Regiment to fight into a cohesive and disciplined defensive formation.

Few who look upon the Ulfhednar on the field of battle realize that these raging barbarians are in fact a warrior lodge whose origins predate the veneration of the Aesir and the Vanir. Descending upon their foe clad in their ceremonial furs and armed with twin blades, these ritual warriors are a menace to all who would stand in their path, their frenzied state inuring them to fear or pain. Fast, savage and deadly, the Ulfhednar close with their opponents with terrifying speed, their twin blades whistling as they carve a path of savage mayhem through the enemies vulnerable flank and read. How they Play: An elite Medium Regiment, blindly charging and unleashing a true whirlwind of Attacks overcoming even the most determined opponents. Extremely lethal in close combat although vulnerable to missile fire.

While female Speakers display an admirable affinity to the carnivorous Raptors that dwell within their primal lands, they are not the only cavalry the W’adrhun can bring to bear. Riding juvenile Brontoceratops (the elder beasts being too stubborn and docile to be goaded to battle) the Thunder Riders descend on the enemy formations in an unstoppable avalanche of muscle, crest and violence. The sheer power and impact these mounts can bring to bear as they stampede and trample enemy lines has earned these young riders a terrifying reputation that belies their years. How they Play: The W'adrhun version of Heavy Shock Cavalry, the Thunder Riders focus more on a debilitating Charge rather than sustained combat, even though their defensive stats would naturally protect them. Although their Movement stats are more in line with Brutes, this Cavalry Regiment will give any defensive formation a real run for its points.
