The Ambarox are a true oddity. No one is certain whether they were created by Garkan at all. Rather, drawn to the lightning upon which they seem to feed, these large, insectoid creatures burrowed out of their subterranean lairs when the Riftforged Orcs emerged from the Abyss. Their bony protrusions are able to channels lightning into their own bodies, causing them to glow and crackle with barely controllable energy, and then discharge it at the foe in powerful blasts.

The elite warriors of the legion, who have proven themselves many times in battle, are often formed into hard-hitting Helstriker units. Initiation into these savage airborne cavalry units is an ordeal in itself, for the chosen legionary must first select their mount from the legion's winged manticores. In battle, Helstrikers are tasked with swooping over the enemy ranks, causing as much disruption as possible by tearing apart enemy wizards, artillery teams and commanders, before launching devastating charges into the rear of larger formations, putting even the most powerful foes to flight.

It is said that the elves first learned their modern ship-building techniques from the Celestians, but had explored much of the known world before the other races had dared leave the safety of their coastal waters. These enormous battleships seem to rise almost organically from the water, their vast, armoured hulls topped with coal-black gunports and towers, making them look almost like floating volcanoes. The Salamanders possess a small but elite navy, with large, powerful ships. The Artificers often accompany the Brokkrs into a Deadzone, as they’re required to fix the various mining machines and more complex tech used to strip planets. They’re often louder, and more boisterous than your average Forge Father and it’s not uncommon to find them gambling and drinking in between fixing the complex machines. Of course such advanced technology as used by these expert engineers is a tempting target, and so the Artificers are also highly trained combat veterans, well equipped to quickly deal with any envious and greedy admirers.

Though their navy is small, the Salamanders have become the self-proclaimed guardians of the Three Kings, and take it upon themselves to police the surrounding Infant Sea. Following their membership of the League, some gunpowder artillery is also used by both the Shire army and also the brigades in Ej, as the – mostly due to exchanges in military hardware. Volley-guns deliver multi-barreled, devastating close-range fire-power, while the howitzer is a long range cannon capable of firing high explosive projectiles.

Originally conceived by the dwarfs as their Steel Behemoth, the concept of an Iron Beast was later brought to the Shires by the halfling Percival Arbuckle and the design later evolved by Paddy Bobart . While the designs of individual machines vary, they are all essentially an enormous four-legged, steam — powered behemoth controlled from a small cabin on the back and armed with guns, piercing tusks and unstoppable momentum. An implacable foe, they are eminently capable of smashing through an enemy army, spreading death and shear panic.
