The scale of these diggings require similarly gargantuan machines. For the Resistance, these became prime targets for all sorts of modifications - the vast majority not for battlefield roles, but some have proved surprisingly effective. By far the most commonly used is the Avernus platform, a quadruped design with heavy armour, designed to cope with tunnel collapses and uneven, virgin cave formations.

These mighty Mining Engines are based off of the same heavy armoured hull that can withstand the strongest of firepower. Both variants come bearing two autocannons that ignore all cover making them excellent for clearing out those hidden units.

The Avernus has a large Mining Laser mounted on the back of the hull, this weapon fires a beam and punches through everything caught in its path, be that building, armour or infantry. The Cerberus swaps the direct firepower of the Mining laser for the more versatile Vent Repeater. The shots from this weapon can deal devastating damage and in desperate times the crew can overcharge the Repeater to increase the energy of the weapon, however this can come with terrible consequences.

Since mankind’s first contact with the Shaltari, the Gaia has been the alien’s closest equivalent to a heavy dropship, enabling bulk teleportation of large ground units. However, the Gaia’s lack of conventional armament has always restricted its use to pre-cleared dropsites. Around a year into the

Earth campaign, a new variant has appeared. Designated ‘Adamah’.

This formidable aircraft trades some transport capacity for a pair of front-mounted gravity cannons. These amplify the force of gravity to crush tanks like empty drinks cans, pulping their crews in the process. With formidable anti-armour weaponry, the Adamah can support its own landings, making it a singular threat that can operate far from support.

Although large, these have been observed operating alone in a vanguard/probing role, as well as in small-scale, surgical strikes. Commanders on the ground are learning to fear single-blip Shaltari contacts, as one Adamah can sweep a landing zone clear of picket units, then teleport in endless waves of lethal warstriders, gravtanks and support vehicles.

Daggers are silent hunting creatures – Fauna that stalk from the shadows to attack their prey. They inhabit environs across the Cradle Worlds and can lay dormant for years, living off tiny scraps of food for long periods of time.

These dangerous Fauna are available to use in your games of Dropzone Commander, regardless of which faction you play. They inhabit buildings, making occupation an extremely tense idea!

“Mauler” is the catch all term for any hulking, belligerent beasts roaming over large areas in angry packs. No matter their actual genus, this subset of Fauna are always territorial, but over a much larger area than many other Fauna seen during the Reconquest. They patrol through cities and across plains searching for threats to their sovereignty, lashing out at any they see as encroaching upon their territory.

The fearsome Maulers are Fauna, non-player units that can be used in your games of Dropzone Commander, regardless of which faction you play. They hunt in packs of three, although even a single Mauler is enough to make trouble for the most seasoned of Commanders!

Repair Technicals are able to enact quick battlefield repairs, patching up armour and fixing minor battle damage.

During the Scourge occupation, many resistance bands continued to keep man's best friend. These K9 Attack Units are the mongrel descendants of the purebred pets from days before the occupation. Kept in kennels affixed to K9 Technicals, they're unleashed upon the enemy in support of friendly troops.

These Behemoths bear more than a passing resemblance to the smaller Oppressor, although they upgrade to walking on eight legs instead of six. Though still fast, this makes the Scourge Light Behemoth somewhat slower than the heavy-limbed Heavy.

The Punisher is unleashed by the Scourge when they care little for collateral damage. Its forelegs are a pair of hive-like structures that can carry a range of munitions, from explosive pods, to Razorworms. Its tail houses a Quake Bombard, a weapon capable of shaking buildings right down to their foundations.

The Persecutor is the anti-behemoth variant. It is armed with an underslung Plasma Destructor - one of the most powerful plasma weapons the Scourge have comitted to conflict. Backing up this mighty weapon are hull mounted Heavy Plasma Cannons, they themselves are capable of turning armour into molten puddles.

Although the Heavy was actually the first to hit the frontline, AHQ intends the Light form to overtake the Heavy in terms of numbers, given its lower cost and greater practicality. .

The Brazil and India are the UCM's Light Battle Mechs. These massive quadrupeds sit low to the ground, granting a modicum of cover for their large frame as well as ensuring that even if all legs are destroyed, they are merely immobilised.

Optimised for anti-behemoth roles, the Brazil carries a pair of UMH-2 Mass Drivers. While smaller than the main weapons on the America, they are much more practical and still able to take on the toughest of armour. On two of its legs are UM-88B chainguns for anti-air defence. The India trades out the large Mass Drivers for a set of 4 UMH-19 Flak Cannons. These weapons can make incredibly short work of enemy aircraft and are still large enough to threaten ground based armour.

The Vulture has proven a reliable platform for the UCM, as more and more roll off the assembly lines, new variants are being created to fill potential niche's in combat doctrine. A pair of new aerial IFV's are currently being tested in both scout, and combat varieties.

Vultures Gunships come armed with two Twin Cannons, identical to the variants mounted on the Katana light tank, this gives the gunship respectable anti-tank firepower. The optional AA Battery gives the Vulture further versatility, allowing it to take on other aircraft. Alternatively, this kit can be assembled to make the Buzzard Aerial Target Craft, it loses out on one twin cannon, however is now a scouting vehicle. This gives it great versatility, allowing it to spot for units firing indirectly, as well as extend your commander's sphere of influence.

Both of these variants are set on the Vulture ship chassis, giving it good durability and high speed. It is also able to transport two troop units, allowing for high response board control.

The Type-6 is somewhat smaller than the Type-7, though still enormous and powerfully built. This design is quadruped, with a low centre of gravity and bulky hull.

These still massive walkers are the Alcyoneus and Porphyrion types. Both variants sport a chin mounted triple railgun turret, thrice the armament of a single Type-1 walker. 3 Anti-behemoth missiles make up the rest of the shared armament between these two types.

The Alcyoneus carries a pair of massive railguns equally as powerful as those on the Tiamat. The Porphyrion trades its own offensive ability and instead carries 8 Venus Drones. The Bobcat uses a leg layout identical to the walker variants seen in the Aaru theatre, though its use is much more widespread. Seen across multiple battlefronts, the Aaru leg design makes it a much more stable firing platform for its large weapon arrays.

Unlike the alternate versions of the Warstriders, the Bobcat is designed to be a bulwark of heavy firepower. It can bring excellent Anti-Air with the Ion Cannon array, the high volume of shots and decent energy means that arial combatants must steer clear.

Alternatively they can bring the Twin Gravity Cannon, a high energy anti-tank gun with devastator, meaning it can cripple the largest of vehicles.

The Luna Gunship is an up-gunned variant of the Proteus. Featuring a Huntsman Cluster and a pair of Sunglaives, the Luna can lay down devastating firepower. The Huntsman Cluster alone is made up of several of the main turret weapons of the Juno APC, while only forward facing, they are surprisingly accurate, even when moving at full speed. The Starglaive Pair is a miniature version of the Sunglaives found on the Tethys. Like their larger counterparts, these glaives can be overcharged to break through even the toughest armour.

3 Attila Trackwalkers cover ground with ease, while equipped with Welding Clamps, these industrial vehicles have a nasty close-range attack. They are also armed with Anti-Material Guns for when you don't need to reach out and touch tanks. They are reinforced by a Circe Attack Hovercraft that can lay waste to the heaviest armoured vehicles, or it can be assembled as the Hydra Relay Hovercraft. Excellent air support comes in the form of 2 Cyclone Attack Helicopters and a Tempest Interceptor, no enemy can hide from the sights of these agile fliers.

The Widow is a peculiar walker, it is lightly armed and armoured but capable of scaling buildings similarly to the Tarantula. Its mirror panels provide it with a modicum of protection, making it appear where it is not and obfuscate where it is. Bradyon Carbines are light weapons designed to go against infantry and light vehicles, but weight of fire can overwhelm even heavily armoured vehicles.

One moment the entire building was about to keel over with us in it. Then all of a sudden we were told to get away from the windows. I thought for sure it was another blast of plasma from one of those Scourge tanks. Turns out it was some foamy concrete stuff the eggheads had whipped up to shore up structures. Sure glad it worked, but I'm less impressed that the Palazzo looks like a lumpy potato now.

3 Katana Light Tanks can bring varied fire power to either deal with Tanks via its Twin Cannon or can incinerate infantry with the Flame Thrower. The Jackal LAV's can crack open light tanks with there Requiter Organ Guns. These can also be assembled as the Dingo LAV's which are designed to repair buildings with reinforced cement. Raining Fire down the enemy from afar is the Longbow Howitzers or can be built as the Crossbow Laser Artillery. This Battlegroup is transported by 2 Titania Ravens and a Titania Condor.

The Ferrum Falcon is light ground attack craft, designed for close air support missions. Built around the Ferrum Raven dropship chassis, the Ferrum Falcon is able to loiter over the combat zone, presenting a constant threat to enemy ground units. It shares considerable commonality with the Ferrum Raven, reducing construction costs and simplifying maintenance.

The Ferrum Falcon is just as fast and manoeuvrable as the Raven, although it is also lightly armoured. This makes it best employed against unfortunate, defenceless ground targets.

The Ferrum Falcon Gunship is armed with Twin Miniguns. These have been calibrated for focused, converging fire. The sheer volume of lead these shell-hoses can send downrange is capable of shredding a main battle tank in seconds.

Alternatively the Ferrum Falcon Gunship can be armed with AP/AA Missiles. These provide versatile anti-tank and anti-air firepower. A great addition to any army going against any foe whether they have land or air units.

The Ferrum Raven is a high speed light transport, able to conduct operations far ahead of the main force. Its primary role is to drop scout units quietly near targets of opportunity, often behind enemy lines. Its small size and high manoeuvrability makes it extremely capable in the tight, urban dropzones which may preclude the use of its lumbering cousins.

The Ferrum Raven’s high combat speed and small size does, however, come at the cost of low protection. Prudent commanders only utilise its talents in the manner for which it was designed, avoiding frontline operations.

The Ferrum Raven Troopship has a capacity of 10 infantrymen. When there are time critical objectives waiting to be taken, there is no better choice of transport.

The Ferrum Raven Dropship can carry a pair of Wolverine scout buggies as it was designed concurrently with the Wolverine to create the perfect rapid reaction partnership.

The Leviathan Heavy Hovercraft is the epitome of heavy transports. Able to carry up to 24 Technicals, it's enough to drop off half your army! Resistance Behemoths were designed by the EAA as land clearance and exploratory vehicles. Capable of carving out habitable areas from dense jungles and cutting aggressive megafauna down to size. These massive vehicles were humanity's first lumbering steps onto the cradle worlds. Now most are repurposed for war, their cutting claws are aimed at tanks instead of trees, and their backs armed with gigantic weaponry.

The Resistance Behemoth is a monster of a kit. Able to be built as either a Juggernaut or a Colossus and are equipped with the largest weapon systems available to the Resistance. Even the smallest weapons on the platform are main weapons for its smaller Pizzaro based counterparts.

The Juggernaut is a mobile base for early colonisation efforts, albeit one heavily modified by Resistance commanders. Gone are the living quarters in its hind section, replaced by holding areas for ATV’s, Technicals, and Wagons. In addition to its standard Logging Claws and Chainguns, the Juggernaut has also been modified to mount an 800mm Naval Defence Gun.

The Colossus comes equipped with a substantial missile launch system. Instead of a transport capacity, the Colossus uses the space for multiple Gilgamesh Missiles. These devastating missiles trade-off stability for power and are capable of taking out even the toughest of tank groups, but have a tendency to explode if they suffer damage. Beowulf-AAV Pods surround the Gilgamesh Missiles, giving the Colossus reliable anti-air firepower.

Shaltari Behemoths are an engineering enigma, quite unlike anything the other races are capable of constructing. These constructs are comprised of multiple articulated segments, numerous legs, and no small amount of anti-gravity technology. Reserved for the most critical of battles, Shaltari Dragons have been seen more and more often during the Battle for Earth where their devastating alien firepower has been brought to bear.

The Shaltari Behemoth is a truly massive kit. Able to be built as either an Earth Dragon or a Celestial Dragon, equipped with some of the largest and most technologically advanced weaponry ever seen. Each weapon dwarfs that of any other Shaltari ground unit, even surpassing some units in their entirety.

The Earth Dragon is designed to cause devastation over a wide area to armour and infantry alike. Its Super Disruption Cannon acts as both an area denial and Behemoth killing weapon, while its Bio-Atomiser Fangs can melt infantry or focus its fire to take out armoured vehicles. Six Gauss Destroyers round off this loadout, with powerful anti-tank firepower.

Celestial Dragons are the more focused of the two variants. A Particle Triad offers precise, high energy damage while a pair of Laser Fangs are perfect for taking out lighter vehicles. Like the Earth Dragon, the Celestial Dragon is equipped with six Gauss Destroyers.
