Hayabusa (隼) is Japanese for "peregrine falcon", a bird that often serves as a metaphor for speed due to its vertical hunting dive, the fastest of any bird. Emblazoned with the national banner, Mechazoids are the guardians and the armored shields of Greater Independent Japan’s cities. Their main duty is to protect the major urban centers and the most important military facilities from both enemies and MegaBeasts. But they are also the sword of the JSA in the outer territories, fending off any foreign power reckless enough to threaten the sovereignty of their country.

One should never forget the meaning of the name Yáoxiè (Remote Weapon) [...] and a good officer should use it accordingly. The Karakuri are autonomous robotic military units. Due to their special characteristics, they are considered multi-purpose assault troops, also capable of carrying out actions aimed at suppressing revolts and mutinies in the independent Japanese territories. As shock troops, their mission is to carry out attacks in the most dangerous areas of the battlefront, moving imperturbably between the crossfire, ignoring any damage, and instilling terror in the enemy with their unstoppable advance.

This unit forms the support backbone of the Japanese Sectorial Army Forces. The Engineer and Doctor are each assisted by their own drones to enable them to perform their functions in the middle of a fire fight without putting themselves in the line of fire.
