  • Giulianna Starr, proprietor of the Red Oak Cat House has her work cut out for her. Despite there being little in the way of trouble happening inside, thanks to her line up of ornery, repeat ornery, regulars, there’s often enough trouble just outside that spills into her domain. Whether that be bullets flying through windows and walls or the delay of a vital liqueur delivery thanks to a hold up in town. Often the way it’s dealt with is by turning up the volume on the Auto piano and getting the dancers out for an encore. If they can’t prevent the danger bringing down the mood in town at least they can prevent it from bringing down Mme. Starr’s patrons.

  • The last place in town anyone wants to visit, and the inevitable last place they do visit, is the Red Oak Crematorium. It's an unusual site but the local Boot Hill was filled to bursting during the Ore War so most of the locals have got used to the foul-smelling smoke on Sunday afternoons. It’s a good job too. With the town of Red Oak seeming to be a centre of violent outbreaks between Lawmen, Outlaws, the Union and others, the efficiency of the crematorium can’t be over appreciated. If they all had to be dug graves the town might have to hire a gang of constructs from the local Enlightened representative full time.

  • Despite the town of Red Oak being a place where folks of all kinds pass through, it’s the Jail that has seen more than its fair share of ‘celebrities’. Outlaws that have been the subject of dime novels all across the Union have ended up carving their initials into the walls of these cells. A few have even broken out. Though it’s not just Outlaws who become famous visitors. Wyatt Earp and other well-known Lawmen pass through, sometimes dropping off their latest quary in the Jail until they can be properly tried and sentenced.

  • The Metalsmith in town is usually tasked with fixing some broken piece of equipment or other that most rough-and-tumble types don't have the smarts to look after properly. The townsfolk are untrusting of the local Enlightened representatives, even though they are happy to use their labour saving devices. What they don’t know is that the workshop is actually a subsidiary of the nearest Promethean Complex so all their hard earned dollars go straight to them anyway.

  • The one place in Red Oak that isn't busy is the Prospector's Shack just on the outskirts. Some say it's haunted and some say that Old Joshua just likes to keep to himself with the aid of a shotgun. Either way, most folks keep their distance. The wagon there hasn’t had horses to pull it for years and has been left to slowly rot. If the far fetched stories and loaded shotgun weren’t enough to keep away any unwanted visitors then the stench of the nearby outhouse sure is.

  • The Red Oak saloon is considered by many to be the dark heart of the town. The local law officials are spread so thinly over the territory that Outlaws and bandits can usually be found drinking and gambling in this perpetually open establishment. Even on a good night of well natured debauchery, violence can explode faster than an RJ bomb. There’s neither the veteran regulars of the Cat House nor the law abiding citizens of the other businesses to protect the peace of the Saloon. People have stopped counting the transients who have newly arrived in town, got drunk at the Saloon, only to be killed in a booze-fueled bust up and then be burned in the crematorium with just their boots and guns left to be sold at the general store.

  • Built many years ago when the French had colonised the local area, the Manor at Black Lake was once a place of opulence where the well-to-do would dine and socialise. Since the Ore War, it has certainly lost its shine. While still an imposing building, it is now for a very different reason. Rumours of it being haunted and the now overgrown local flora make it creepy rather than captivating. The ‘ownership’ of the building has changed hands many times over the past years with everyone staking a tenuous claim from local moonshiners to Confederate remnants of the Ore War to Mme. Marie Leveau and her entourage. This last entry being the source of many of the macabre tales that seem to centre around this former location of luxury.

While in the grounds of the Black Lake Manor, this Boat House is rarely seen in the same place twice. This is made all the stranger given that no one seems to live there. Clearly, someone does but no living person has ever seen boarding or disembarking this crudely built dwelling. Even when gunfights break out between local bandits and lawmen, no movement is seen across the deck. If anything does make this haphazard construction its home, it seems to be able to sense trouble before it arrives and makes its way elsewhere.

The Black Lake Summer House has fallen into a state of almost total decrepitude. Years ago it might have been considered a picturesque folly for effete members of the family to make their dalliances, though like those once young and beautiful people its best days are far behind it. Now it is only home to wildlife and whatever transient creatures traverse the bayou at night. Very occasionally, the tree growing through the roof is used as a dead drop between whoever might be up to nefarious deeds and do not wish to be disturbed.

The Paddle Steamer in Black Lake must have had a name at some point but that is now lost to the lake, as is a large section of its hull. Whether by war, accident or the simple passage of time, no one seems to remember but it is now scuppered with anything of use torn from its rotting carcass. Despite this, there are still determined souls willing to risk their lives delving into the submerged hold, hoping to find the gold that was the prize in a forgotten poker tournament. No one seems to know if this was even real or not but those who search for it often find the bodies of those who went before them. Like those decaying corpses, this Paddle Steamer will eventually be consumed by the bayou, never to be seen again.

  • Named after the Alliance victory against the Imperium in 1859, the Magenta class is the pride of Napoleon’s levant fleet. These powerful battlecruisers are capable of hovering a hundred meters or more above the sea bringing their powerful heat lances or other weapons to bear.

The Saint-Michel Levant Assault Carrier is often the centrepiece of a Levant focussed battlefleet. Flight crews of the fighter craft that launch from Saint-Michel are often known as ‘Anges de la Mort’ as a matter of pride. The agility of the skimming Levant Carrier allows it to surge to great heights then descend upon the enemy as scores of ‘angels’ unleash the wrath of President Louis-Napoleon.

The mainstay of the Levant style of ships is the Chasseur Levant Strike Cruiser. Their ability to soar above their enemies if need be makes them hard to precinct as does their various ways of being outfitted. Gun batteries, heat lances or force multiplying generators; even seeing a Chasseur on the horizon makes no guarantee what you might actually be facing in battle.

No captain wants to see an enemy craft soaring above them but the Furieux Levant Grand Corvette make ones blood freeze in terror. That could be the last time the crew feels cold as the Furieux releases deadly thermal cluster bombs. Even the bravest crews know to be rightfully scared if they spot a Furieux rising into the air ahead of them.

As fighter pilots rise in the ranks they may be promoted to become flight crew on a Voliere Levant Support Carrier. The launch catapults put greater strain on pilots and landing on a Levant that could be at almost any height takes incredible skill. Despite this, pilots elevated to this level are often competing with each other to gain more confirmed kills so they can be promoted once again to become the Angels of Death aboard a Saint-Michel Assault Carrier.

Part of Napoleon’s modernisation of the French navy, the Sirene is a powerful attack vessel able to close undetected until it surfaces with its deadly heat Lancette in range to do maximum damage to the enemy.

The tactical counterpart to the Sirene class, the Epaulard uses its secretive deployment to surface at a distance and employ its magnetic bombard to deadly effect

    The Magenta Battlefleet Set builds five multi-part plastic and resin miniatures;

    • 1x Battlecruiser
      • Each Battlecruiser can alternatively be built as either Magenta or a Saint-Michel Class ship
    • 2x Levant Cruiser
      • Each Cruiser can alternatively be built as either a Chasseur, Furieux or Voliere Class ship

  • The flight crew of Constantinople Carriers are rightly proud of their assignment. It is said that "the blood of a wingman is thicker than the water of the womb" and that is certainly the case for these pilots. These aerial combatants are like a close-knit family as they know that they can only rely on each other once the fighting starts and don’t let outsiders forget it.

The Mihrimah Flechette Cruiser is armed with a weapon unique to the Sultanate. It can unleash a torrent of Orichalcite Flechettes from its bombards at a target. These light and razor-thin fragments are so sharp they can puncture steel hulls at close quarters, though air resistance prevents them from being effective at longer ranges. While they can certainly cause damage to cruisers, they are deadly against squadrons of smaller ships. A cloud of flechettes can easily envelop multiple vessels and shred through steel and flesh alike.

While the Ferik escort skiffs of the Sultanate are ubiquitous in their battlefleets, they need frequent maintenance to keep their repulsion engines in working order; that's where the Konya comes in. A bay at the fore of the ship allows a skiff to be loaded in and repairs to be made. Though a commodore knows that a Konya lacks firepower, they never regret having one close by.

An Aydin Supply Cruiser is a welcome sight to other crews. Knowing they won’t run out of vital necessities at a moment's notice is a huge boost for morale and for this reason alone they are constantly on the move, heading from fleet to fleet, only heading ashore to resupply themselves.

Morea Minelayers have become more common as tensions escalate. Sultanate commanders understand that they must keep their holdings around the world at any cost while Order advisors push the fact that anything to advance the greater good is necessary. While the merchant navy of the Sultanate might dislike the sea being mined, they are slowly being fed stories that prove how vital they can be.

    The Sultanate Support Squadrons builds six multi-part plastic miniatures;

    • 2x Support Cruisers
      • Each Support Cruiser can alternatively be built as either Constantinople, Mihrimah, Konya, Aydin or Morea Class ship

  • To think that William Quantrill was once a teacher is almost impossible to believe. The man driven by hatred and violence is now spoken about only in hushed tones, often by the weeping widows he leaves in his wake. To him, the Ore War never ceased and he will only be at peace when the yankee blue-bellies are purged from this land in flame and death. At least that’s what he tells people who are brave enough to ask. There is a darker truth behind his eyes. Even before he was critically wounded in a Union ambush he was known for the massacre of men and boys. He simply enjoys causing pain and terror to any who stand in his way. The story goes that it was only purest hate that willed him to survive the almost fatal wound he received at Wakefield Farm, though Enlightened medicine surely played its part. Now he has vowed to take revenge on every last member of the Union that he can. Soldiers or civilians, loyalists or former Confederates, Quantrill will have his pound of flesh and then some.

Georgia Maddox grew up in the south and joined the Confederacy at an early age inspired by her brother. She wasn’t overly violent at the start, performing her necessary duties as a soldier with stoic resolve. However, due to her proficiency on an Iron Horse and her connection to her brother Richard Maddox, she was assigned to the newly formed unit that would become Quantrill's Raiders and her life started to change. To begin with she baulked at the shock tactics they employed, more used to straight fights against line infantry. Over time, as the war drew on, William Quantrill's repeated speeches and the fervour that the unit felt during their missions inured her to the horrors of war they commited. Eventually she became indoctrinated to their terrible way of doing things, so much so she gained the honour of flying the unit’s banner into battle. Since Quantrill’s rageful resurrection, she has only become more willing to perform atrocities in the name of the dead Confederacy.

Where William Quantrill is a brutal madman prone to fits of rage, Richard Maddox is cool, calm and collected. This doesn’t make him any less of a threat, however. His hate burns as deeply and he is just as capable of causing pain as his commanding officer. Most see him as Quantrills right hand man and he is often the tactician behind their lighting raids and civilian ambushes. Maddox is just at home behind a set of technical schematics as he is behind a battle map. A useful skill to have when your Iron Horse is constantly in the field. He even adapted his own personal Iron Horse, arming it with a pair of flamethrowers running from a high capacity fuel tank. Richard Maddox may not be a physically violent man but he loves the smell of RJ in the morning.

  • The Chevalier cruisers and Charlemagne heavy cruiser are the mainstay of Alliance cruisers and are able to launch screens of torpedoes in a wide range of fire arcs, as well as lay down heat lances or rocket batteries, when necessary.

Loire light cruisers are at the forefront of Alliance Battlefleets and as such often the first to engage with the enemy. They provide screening and reconnaissance for the rest of the battlefleet and any commodore worth his salt will know how to make best use of any Loire's under their command.

Captains of Picardy monitors understand their role to guard the rivers and waterways of Europe, and further afield, from invaders. While they may not be the most heavily armed of ships, they have the perfect balance of firepower and the ability to operate in shallow waters. Crews are reminded that they are often the last line of defence for civilians and as such are assigned from recruits hailing from inland towns and cities. This ensures they understand what is truly at stake should an enemy vessel get past them and into Alliance territory.

  • The twin decks of the Suleiman Fleet Carrier are replete with squadrons of Sabiha strike aircraft. An impressive vessel, the Sultanate values supremacy of the skies that the Suleiman class brings. While her twin hulls make her slower to turn than other vessels of her size, her ability as the flagship in a carrier assault group shows the huge advances the Ottomans are making thanks to heavy investment by the Sublime Porte.

When magnetic impeller advancements were acquired by the Sublime Porte for its navy, it was the Iskandar class that first bore the fruit of the development. Quickly these cruisers have become the mainstay in a highly mobile armada, making excellent use of the engineering to bring glory to the Sultanate.

The enemies of the Ottoman people are right to fear the Sadrazam Heavy Cruiser, should they see one come over the horizon. With firepower comparable to the heavy cruisers of other nations, but the ability to outmanoeuvre almost anything in its class, a seasoned captain will capitalise on this and devastate the enemy.

Pasha Light Cruisers are routinely found at the head of Sultanate battlefleets. A strange tradition has developed among crews, specifically those onboard Pasha’s that have been retrofitted with Particle Beamers. It is seen as a great honour to be the first to scorch an enemy ship, doubly so if it’s a flagship. These races to engagement are seen as reckless by older and more traditional commodores but even they have to admit the bravery of Pasha captains and their crews.

The relatively shallow draft of the Izmir Monitor makes it the perfect defence for estuaries. When not so close to land, it is often paired with a carrier to use any squadrons as spotters. Many enemy submarines have fallen foul of an Izmir working alongside a Suleiman or a Constantinople.

The flight crew of Constantinople Carriers are rightly proud of their assignment. It is said that "the blood of a wingman is thicker than the water of the womb" and that is certainly the case for these pilots. • The Long Hall is the most defensible building in the village. It has held against orcs, wolves, raiders and more eldritch enemies. It even survived a small fire after Belas the Bold tried throwing flaming axes in the hall during one particularly raucous festival. The Lord hands out justice here and all the village's celebrations, as well as funerals, are held within its stout walls.

The commoners of Estun know this place as their refuge in dangerous times; the warriors know this as the place they will die to protect. Please Note: Scenery items are manufactured in Medium Density Fibre Board (MDF). Buildings are supplied pre-painted and some assembly will be required. • The Blacksmith of the Estun is one of the most revered men in the village. He may not be a warrior though he could certainly hold his own in a fight. Instead, he is held in such high regard for without him the whole village would fall into disrepair. Everything from nails to horseshoes to swords makes its way out of that glowing forge.

The Church is a place of welcome to all, no matter their faith. It has been this way for all time. The tree carved above the door has come to represent many things through the ages. The World Tree that connects the realms, the Sun God's influence on the earth below, even the Tree of Woe upon which the God-son was crucified.

No village can stand for long without trade and Estun is no exception. The Market Stalls are the vibrant hub of the village, with exchanges for goods and services happening almost constantly. Just as important here is the trade for information, stories diffusing from here as quickly as the smell of preserved fish.

If there's one thing that the people of Estun can rely on, it's the forest. Food from anything the people can forage as well as game, protection from the blizzards that come down from the mountains, but most importantly the timber from the trees themselves. The Saw Mill processes much of this to build and repair the dwellings of the village's folk as well as trade with other villages.

The Dwellings of Estun are known for miles around. Well built and sturdy, just like the people of the village. The shields above the doors are not purely symbolic, though they do show that these folk are protected.

The Watch Tower has stood for longer than anyone can remember. Stories say that this was the first building in the village, a remnant from an empire, long since fallen. Whatever the truth, horrors of all kinds have been spied from these ramparts. Without which, ambushes might have brought this settlement to its knees in ages past.

Even when all is quiet in Estun, the Tavern still has sounds of revelry. Mead, ale and wine from faraway lands are consumed by the hogshead. Life is hard in the mountains and everyone needs a place to ease the aching bones. Skalds know that they can pass through and get fed and watered for the price of a story. Can a village without a tavern truly be called a village at all?

  • Those who think that Martha Earp has a softer nature than her brothers are sorely mistaken. After an illness in her childhood cost her an arm, she gained an unshakable resolve and vowed that she would survive anything life could throw at her, proving that fact to anyone who challenged it. Following her brother's example, Martha enlisted as a Lawman, if only to prove that if there was anything they could do, she could do it better. More recently, since Morgan was shot by the Cowboys, Martha has taken a posse into the wilds of the Arizona territory in search of the cowards who ambushed her brother. They should pray that she doesn't find them.

Martha is joined by her brother, Warren Earp, a man who is not just the most ornery of his clan, but one of the most bad-tempered lawmen riding across the west. Fighting in the Ore War, something inside Warren snapped and no amount of cosseting could fix it. Now he rides with his sister, too angry to settle anywhere, keeping the peace by any means necessary. He's been known to use violent, deadly force for minor infractions, a trait that sometimes has him at odds with more tolerant members of his profession. Warren believes vehemently that criminality leads to rebellion and rebellion leads to the horrors of war. In his mind, it's best to stamp out that seedling, no matter how small, before it grows into something truly awful.

As a Justice of the Peace, the venerable patriarch of the family, Nicholas Earp was given a UR-24 automata to help with his duties. On his passing in 1863, the machine was damaged and fell into disuse. As the various siblings drifted away from the family home to fight in the Ore War, the automata was repurposed to help around the place. The UR-24 was especially useful to Martha, who had yet to fully embrace the mechanical prothesis her father had acquired for her.

When James didn't come back from the war, no one thought to challenge the distraught Martha when she placed his coat and hat on the automata and began to call him James. Martha and James had been as close as two siblings could be and the family saw this as part of the grieving process for her. As time went on, and with the help of her brother Morgan, Martha added programme cards acquired from a damaged UR-30 lawbot and added them to her "James". The machine was reprogrammed with phrases James used to say and in Martha's presence, it was even treated like a part of the family. Somehow, a part of him seemed to live on. Over time, the automata became the de-facto brother of Martha, accompanying her throughout her life and time enforcing the law. Now, "James Earp" rides the plains seeking a cold and calculated revenge with those it views as its siblings. Curiously, no one seems able to explain is why the automata have the same lopsided gait that its namesake grew up with. Certainly, it has never been programmed or instructed to behave in this way. For Martha, it is further proof that the spirit of her brother lives to ride anew.

Thoroughly modernised from the hulls of ageing Prince de Joinville class Battleships, the Oriflamme are the pride of the Republique. As much a work of art as a Battleship, even enemy crews can't help but be impressed by the lines and craftsmanship of an Oriflamme cutting through the waves.

Even the Oriflamme, as elegant as it may be, cannot engage an enemy fleet alone, and so relies on support cruisers to assist. The Chevalier Class Cruisers are the mainstay of Alliance cruisers and are able to launch screens of torpedoes in a wide range of fire arcs, as well as lay down heat lances or rocket batteries, when necessary.

The Charlemagne Heavy Cruiser is bristling with guns, primed and ready to unleash hell on the enemies of the Alliance. Crews are rightly proud of their positions on these ships knowing that often they are being relied upon to deal with an engagement as quickly as possible.

Loire Light Cruisers are at the forefront of Alliance Battlefleets and as such often the first to engage with the enemy. They provide screening and reconnaissance for the rest of the battlefleet and any commodore worth his salt will know how to make best use of any Loire's under their command.

  • The Izmir Monitor can often be seen supporting a Mehmed class, making sure that the great rivers and coastlines under the Sultans' protection are well defended. Assignment to an Izmir is often seen as a sideways promotion as the constant presence of a Grand Monitor can make a captain and his officers feel they have little chance to show initiative and that any orders they give their crew may be changed at a moment's notice.

When magnetic impeller advancements were acquired by the Sublime Porte for its navy, it was the Iskandar class that first bore the fruit of the development. Quickly these cruisers

have become the mainstay in the highly mobile Sultanate armada, particularly when partnered with Pasha class vessels. These Light Cruisers are often the first to attend a conflict, they are outfitted with extensive observation systems allowing any reconnaissance to be as detailed as possible. This helps the Iskanders and flagships be in the best position to bring their formidable weapons to bear.

Sadrazam Heavy Cruisers are the envy of the world's navies. Advanced Sultanate engineering, the match of even the Covenant of the Enlightened, combines speed and manoeuvrability with enhanced firepower to deadly effect. Regularly fitted with particle beamers, the sight of a squadron of Sadrazams on the horizon is often enough to shake the resolve of the bravest enemy Commodore.

Often seen as part of large battlefleets, the Temir Frigates are employed as flanking squadrons supporting Pasha or Izmir class warships. These frigates are sometimes tasked with engaging a secondary objective while the larger ships proceed with the main thrust of an attack.

    • 2x Cruiser (can be built as either a Iskandar, Izmir, Pasha or Sadrazam Class ship. Both cruisers can also be combined to build a Hurrem Grand Cruiser or a Mehmed Grand Monitor)
    • 4x Temir Frigate

  • The Red Oak Residence is of a common design found throughout the settlements of the West. Cheap and plentiful timber is supported with steel joists and copper conduits so that homesteaders have access to all of the modern conveniences that the RJ-powered Dystopian Age can offer. These modern homes are always in demand, so act quickly to secure your very own piece of the West!

Distilleries are an important part of any growing town. A booming industry in the Union frontier, it is highly lucrative being able to supply the good folk of the West a steady supply of hooch, rocket fuel and other more medicinal libations.

The multi-levelled Town House is typical of the homes the more wealthy settlers inhabit out West. Not only does this bring about a new gameplay element with its size, the building itself is hugely customisable and is compatible with elements from the Red Oak Residence to create a truly unique set of buildings for your town.

Justice is often delivered in the Union Frontier at the end of a noose. This happens a great deal at the Red Oak Gallows and Clock Tower. In such turbulent times, these gallows are both a form of macabre entertainment and a warning to the citizens that lawlessness will not be tolerated. Legally, the execution can only be carried out at an appointed hour and only by a Lawman. Many outlaws have gone to their deaths, watching the clock tower as it ticks towards their final moment, waiting for a reprieve that never comes.

While for the very wealthy, near-instant communications can be achieved through radio and other more esoteric means, for most the Post Office represents the only means of communicating with the world outside the town limits. Typical delivery was between a month and ten days, depending on the importance of the letter or package and of course the cost. The Post Office is an important place to not only send and receive messages but also for the local community to meet and share news as it arrives from the Union and beyond.

The advent of the Iron Horse has been a boon to the scattered settlements of the American Frontier. Of course, even these wondrous technological marvels require maintenance and recharging from time to time. Cartwrights, like this one, offer affordable services to the good folk of Red Oak - certainly preferable to dealing with the Enlightened as their assistance often literally costs an arm and a leg...

In the American frontier, the bank is not just a place to keep your dollars. Anything of value, from gold bars to family heirlooms, from Sturginium deposits to refined artworks can be safeguarded by the town bank. Such protection in the Dystopian Age does not come easily or cheaply, in times of crisis, the bank can be one of the most fortified and well-defended buildings in town - at a price.

Dominating the skyline of towns like Red Oak, these watchtowers allow the residents to keep a watchful eye for the telltale dust clouds that announce the arrival of Iron Horses and the bandits who often ride them. With parts to assemble it instead as a water tower, the Red Oak Watchtower is a great addition to your table or even the centre point for one.

    This set contains:

    • 1x Residence
    • 1x Distillery
    • 1x Town House
    • 1x Gallows and Clock Tower
    • 1x Post Office
    • 1x Cartwright
    • 1x Bank
    • 1x Watchtower

  • The Apex Hellions are truly the height of Caym's hellion design, often used as lieutenants, or more accurately pack leaders, for his forces. Apex Hellions fly in on great mechanical wings tearing apart their targets without remorse or any emotion apart from hate amplified by whatever processes Caym uses to control these soaring terrors. They are the first to engage the enemy, urged on by a monstrous will that only seeks to tear and rend. While they lack the ability to employ ranged weapons, their Hellion Evicerators are more than enough to tangle up an opponent before ripping them apart in a hideous display of slaughter. Science untempered by ethics is a horrifying thing.

The Apex Hellions kit contains two multi-part resin miniatures

    • 2x Apex Hellions
    • 2x Bases

  • Green Stuff is a 2 part epoxy putty also known as Kneadatite (Blue/Yellow) Sculptors Epoxy Putty. It is an idea ideal product to sculpt miniatures, either from scratch or expanding on an existing design. A large array of miniatures are sculpted in green stuff before being cast for mass production.

Green Stuff comes in 2 parts which must be mixed together until it is a uniform shade of green. There is then a working time of around 1.30 - 2 hours before the modelling putty cures, depending on the temperature of the room. Placing the sculpture under a desk lamp will accelerate the curing time.

The Warcradle Scenics Green Stuff contains 1 strip that is approximately 36 inches long. Please note: Green Stuff contains 3, 6-diazaoctanethylenediamin, which may produce an allergic reaction.
