Since The Ore War, a devastating civil conflict that almost tore their nation apart, the Union has emerged onto the world stage as a heavily industrialised mass manufacturer of weapons and engines of war. Paired with a self-proclaimed “manifest destiny”, this youthful and ambitious Great Power now looks beyond its borders, shifting its focus to the development and construction of ever more powerful ships to bring liberty to the world at any cost.

Many different classes of cruiser form the backbone of the Union's aggressive, expansionist navy. The Yorktown is the most common of these, its balance of manoeuvrability and firepower ensuring that it is a part of nearly every fleet. The Lexington Heavy Cruiser brings a larger set of weapons to bear against its foes, ideal to blast away at the enemy at close range. Intrepid Light Cruisers are often seen at the fore of a Union fleet, while Reliant Monitors are the nation’s preeminent littoral warfighter, guarding the coasts and islands within American territories. Their smaller Farragut Frigates and Defiant Destroyers are as adept at hunting in packs as they are in accompanying larger ships to add to their offensive capabilities. Meanwhile, newer additions such as the Princeton Corvette prove their worth, holding their own in defending Union interests.

Dystopian Wars is a naval tabletop wargame that uses highly detailed miniatures to represent huge engines of destruction on, above, and below the high seas. Set in the Dystopian Age, an alternate late-nineteenth century of our own world, the Great Powers of the globe use super science and alien engineering as they clash over resources and power. Battleships and cruisers sail the surface of the sea while sky fortresses and dirigibles soar in the sky above. Submarines lurk beneath the waves alongside squid automata and colossal mechanical knights. Fighters and bombers circle, waiting to dive upon their prey. All of this combines for an intense, tactical experience.
